I see that it appears that dear old Pau is to undergo a change. Fortunately, it isn't going to be Tilked, nor is it going to be substantially altered, but still, I hate to see these old places fiddled with.
The plan is dated from August last year but is it going ahead?

If they're not going to Tilke it and it's not going to be altered, then what are they going to do? It's a street circuit, isn't it? So they won't be demolishing it.

I'm not at home right now, but I will post a plan later if no-one else does it before.
Basically it is going to turn left shortly after the east hairpin, run down to a new hairpin, then back to join the start/finish 'straight' nearer to the pits.

I've seen that before. According to racingcircuits.net, this extension was supposed to be introduced for 2004.

So is this specifically to 'improve' it as a race track, or is it something driven by changes being made to the public roads? Maybe due to a urban re-development of some sort?

i believe they came up with this plan to lengthen the track a bit, and shorten the straight before the fast right hander in front of the pits when they tried to attract champcars !
as i think this will not happen, i would bet on the track remaining unaltered !
