They just don't make 'em like they used to. I just love vintage racing posters. Where did you get these images? Were they on exhibit? Some of them look like they were photographed though glass.

The posters were for sale in an auction in Germany.

I don't know which got to me the most, seeing Stevie Baker on his OW31 #32 on the '82 poster, or the thought of riding a bike like that around 14 miles at break neck speed!!

The other rider is Virginio Ferrari, isn't he?

I think so, but I wasn't that confident about it. I wonder what Steve Baker is up to now, very underated, oh but the OW31, I had a mural of Kenny Roberts on his back wheel of his yellow/white/black, works OW31, painted on the back of a crash helmet once. Another machine I should have one of in my garage!

I must be missing something - I can't see a picture of Steve Baker anywhere....

He was one of my favourites too, as were the works OW31s - here are a couple of photos of King Kenny from MCN:

I believe one reason Steve Baker was dropped by Yamaha Japan after 1977 was because of a public and embarassing row between his girlfriend and other team personnel. Sadly he had a bad crash at the end of 1978 and retired from Racing.

Stevie Baker is on the bke numbered 32 on the poster numbered 2163. The OW31 I was thinking of was the first version with the "ducktail" seat, although I would happily have any version if forced!!

Ah, now I see them............those pics are both from 1978, when Baker and Ferrari were riding for Roberto Gallina on production RG500s.

Gallina got works bikes in 1979, when Ferrari challenged for the 500 title until a bad crash at Le Mans.

Here's an interesting page for TZ fans:

(edit: and of course poster #2004 is the one showing the Michael Turner livery on the 1966 McLaren, which was replaced by the pseudo-Japanese white/green due to Frankenheimer's money)
