David Murray - Grenzlandring 1950

In september 1950 David Murray asked the organisers of the Grenzlandring if the track would be available for a record attempt:



But AFAIK he never went there. Did he do this record run somewhere else?

David Murray's letters, etc do not contain any reply to this letter or any indication that he tried anywhere else. His main record attempt did not come until late 1962 when he took the new Tojeiro-Climax to Monza to try and set some obscure records. They had trouble with the car and, I think, broke two of them but don't ask me what they were. It was actually more of a testing exercise for the car but they packed up camp early as the car was acting up.
