Vincenzo Florio is best known as the organizer of the Targa Florio. He did race himself, however. Sources seem sparse concerning his career.
I find the following, but am not sure of the dates. Can someone help, or fill in.
Date unknown. Race between Florio's De Dion trike and a runner and a horse.
Dates unknown. Series of races around Favorita Park in Palermo Sicily. Florio in a FIAT, model unknown.
1903? Speed trials at Padua. Florio wins in a Panhard, model unknown.
1903 Paris-Madrid. Florio entered in a newer Panhard, model unknown. DNS
1904 Brescia. 60 hp Benz. 3rd.
Dates ? French Grand Prix, Gordon Bennet Cup, Coppa Florio
Regarding the Targa itself, I have Florio finishing 3rd in the 4th edition (1909) in a Fiat, Model unknown. It would seem he would have entered more of these.
Many thanks.
Vincenzo Florio - also a racing driver...

Frank,
Thank you.
My third in the 1909 Targa comes from David Owen's book, Targa Florio.
I also have
1903 Targa Rignano 1st Panhard. Have an additional note Padua-Bovolenta. Not sure these aren't the same event.

According to WF Bradley it was a cyclist, not a runner. Route was from Palermo to Mondello. The cyclist retired at half distance with cramp and the tricycle looked to be a winner until it overheated on a straight in Favorita Park [so maybe Mondello to Palermo?] and the horse sprinted home to win.Originally posted by cabianca

Again from Bradley, these seem to have been a private affair for him and his friends (and his chauffeur Nazzaro, of course!) Bradley also claims Florio competed at Semmering - no details though.Originally posted by cabianca
