Hello Jim,

Perhaps you can easily answer this...
What was the Prova number carried on the back of 0846 when it raced at Le Mans?

As an explanation, I'm just converting a BBR 1/43 model of the #224 version into the "never released by BBR" #20 Le Mans version using some decals from another model manufacturer.

So your unquestionable knowledge would be much appreciated !

Have a good trip, it's a great place. I visited the first revival about five years ago, it was held in November, but still super hot weather

Which reminds me, Michael... I'm well overdue a perusal of your model cabinets!

Yes, definitely - there's a photo in a book called 'Super Sports', and Graham Turner got it dead right in his painting.

Thanks for your help guys, you're absolutely right, there it is in "Super Sports" clear as day. I tried all the Ford v's Ferrari versions and all the usual Ferrari tomes, but forgot to check this excellent book.

As my model, which originally carried #224 has the prova number 68, does this mean the number changed in reality? I would have thought the number stayed with the car irrespective of where it was...in which case it's an error in 1/43 scale !

Thanks again
Mike

Yes when 0846 had # 224 at the Targa in 67 it also had Mo 53. MO 68 is incorrect.

Stu

Thanks

Vince

Yes I will be seeing Nino again and dirving a bit with him.
