Before I announce the result, here are several clarification with regards to this competition:

1. To be consistent with other games in this BB, all results "will be calculated as they stand as they cross the finish line" (Note: I pay homage to Estwald for this rule)

2. For question 8, in unlikely cases where the gap between winner and 2nd place driver is 5.000 sec, points will be awarded to those that answered either 0-5 secs or 5-10 secs. However, if the gap is 5.001 sec, 5-10 secs will be the correct answer instead. (thanks Makarias for the question).

Here are the answers for Round 1 - Australian GP.

1. 11th on the grid: Barrichello

2. Team with biggest grid different: Ferrari

3. Team with lowest no of laps completed: Force India

4. First team with both drivers retired: Force India

5. Driver that move up the grid most from start to finish: Alonso

6. Finished in 6th: Barrichello

7. Drivers that finished same lap as winner: 6

8. Winning margin: 5-10 secs

Congratulations to D82, garth_b, moanaman and skylark68. They top the round with 3 points. Looks like our 2007's runner up, garth_b is seriously aiming for the title this time around (ala Hamilton)

Oh yeah, about this question.

There are 2 views here:

1. Bourdais started 17th and classified 8th at the end of the race. (Note: not withstanding Barrichello's DQ).

2. Eventhough he is classified 8th, he never actually finished the race.

Hence, the argument here will be the difference between "classified" and "finished".

For me, the question is referring to any driver that move up the grid most from start until the end of the race, "finish". Since Bourdais technically did not finished the race/crossed the finish line, he is therefore effectively out of the race and thus is not considered for this question.

However, this is my view. I open this thread for comments/suggestions from all my fellow forummers.

I leave it until first Friday practice at Malaysian GP before any final decision being made.

Answer of Q5 must be 'Bourdais' (and this has nothing to do with my guess ;))

I agree with D82 (and SB was my pick also ;) ) - to me its as he 'finished' 3 laps down. Classified means completed or finished to me. Maybe we should consult Max? :)

Absolutely.
(And no, I didn't guess Bourdais)

He was not only classified 7th, IMHO he 'finished 7th' in the proper sense of the term (i.e. in 7th position).

Was he awarded points? If so he 'finished' IMHO

Regarding the 5.000 secs - I agree with awarding it to both 0-5 and 5-10 categories (unless you decide to change the category ie. 0-5.0, 5.001 to 10, 10.001 to 15 etc.

Regarding the difference between "classified" and "finished" - based on your "start to finish" question -it technically means it should go to Bourdais as his finishing position is 7th.

But I know that you mean to "physically finish the race" so I suggest you change the wording for the next round to:

Driver that moves up the grid most from start to finish (and physically completes the race).

Also you may need to clarify who gets the points - Driver A if he moves from 22 to 15 or Driver B who moves from 10 to 3. Do both get the points?

Thanks all for the comments (especially to gerry) ;)

Democracy works...I guess.

After taking into account the comments, it seems that the answer for Q5 should be Bourdais instead since in Max's point of view/rules, he "finished" the race within a certain percentage in order to be classified (albeit did not physically crossed the finish line). Who am I to argue with rules set up by Bernie and Max....

To answer gerry's questions:

1. I guess the chances to get a gap of 5.000 sec is quite minimal. So, I guess nothing wrong in "celebrating" this rare occurance by giving a point to both guesses (0-5,5-10). :)

2. As for instances where there are more than one driver equally move up the grid the most, either driver will be accepted as the correct answer. I already took this stand from last season. ;)

Any other suggestions or objections? Or should we adopt the above comments instead?

Thanks all....
