With that guess I finished 18th out of 40. Considering the very high improbability of my predicted outcome, many of you should be quite embarrassed. Especially since many quesses were posted after the deadline.Originally posted by imaginesix

The correct answer is lap 62. Congratulations nobody!

Both will lead to the same scores -- the second could be called 'bending the rules', though...
Are you a Ferrari fan by any chance?;)

I don't follow. What is the counterpart to, say, 25 laps (of a 50 lap race) that has exactly the same outcome? By my reckoning, every guess that is above 50 will have an increasingly improbable chance of winning, yet any guess below 50 has an equal chance of winning (assuming a perfectly random outcome).Originally posted by panzani
i6, for every guess between 0 and total-laps there's a counterpart in the range twice the total-laps and total-laps with exactly the same outcome ... no improbability at all here, I must add, just plain Mathematics... Perhaps you should be embarassed as long as you didn't realise that, isn't it?;)

As for Ferrari? Bah, they do no better than what is expected of them.

75 lap guess would = 25 lap guess in your scenario.
By my reckoning all guesses (with a chance to win) should fall within the range of zero and the actual number of race laps. But thats just mo.

As in lap 26 out of 50 is equal to 52, lap 27 equal to 54, and so on.
