There are a lot more interesting models in this scale than mentioned throughout this thread. I am much more familiar with vintage ones, so I have to mention great series of plastic Le Mans/Can Am models by French maker Champion, dating from around 1970. They also did superb series of 1/43 models in many liveries, sometimes still cheaply available at eBay. Italian Penny and Dutch Best Box had series of Formula 1 cars in 1960s. Penny and their compatriots Speedy had very nice sportscar models, too. Other classic modelmakers also did some racing cars from time to time, of course.

Of more recent issues there are a lot of great rally cars. CM is probably the most readily available at true 1/64 scale. More of toys, Majorette did quite a few rally cars, and worth finding but quite rare are ones from Spanish Guisval, from late 1990s. Probably the favorite series, although not in racing liveries, is a great 1/64 Mille Miglia series by Japanese Yow Modellini, but they could be quite expensive these days.

As a good overview of the scale, I can recommend the great website by my friend Sinisa Pismestrovic, https://sinicars.at/ - not dedicated to racing models, though, but there are some and others can give you ideas of what is actually available of at least possible to find with a good amount of dedication. Myself, I am more dedicated to 1/43 but still have a few thousand smaller scale models, including most of the ones I mentioned above.

I've been at it again. This time it's a couple of the newish Matchbox Ford Capri RS3100s, stripped, repainted and decalled as Bo Seton's 1975 (green) and 1977 Bathurst 1000 cars. Decals from Patto's Place again.

And this time, I did my own decals (which is why this old Matchbox Escort RS2000 doesn't look so great.)

Copied some from photos I've taken of the real car (ex-Bob Holden), others downloaded, some even created in Word!

It's all about learning, right?

I am 37 years old. My grandma just turned 98 so we went to her house on her birthday. We ended up dragging the old toy box out. There was a yellow truck from the 1970's. But what I really liked and took with me is this 1986 Majorette Ferrari F1 car. These cars stayed in production for a long time. But the first 2 years were manufactured in France. The one with the yellow front decal is the earliest one and made in France. That is how mine is. The rest are made in Thailand. The later ones came in a blue and yellow. Its not worth much but I love it anyway.

Scored these beauties. A pair of 1960s Matchbox toys. The Lotus is too good to restore. The BRM will be painted in a more correct colour scheme. Did these have a red nose?

These were the first colours Matchbox produced for these two, later the Lotus came out in orange and the BRM in red.

Here are a couple of repaints I did:
