You can watch it on SF Zwei (Swiss broadcast) and most hotels carry the Austrian broadcast from ORF Eins (both those are German commentary) or on TSR 1 (French commentary)
As to viewing venues ... there's an English Pub (Duke?) reasonably close to the train station on Rue de Monthoux that has large screen TVs tuned to various sports and an Irish pub called Spring Bros closer to the center of town on Grand Rue that also carries sports.

At 12:30 it didn't look like Spring Bros would be opening today, much like most of Geneva on Sunday. I managed to watch on TSR at my hotel, I really missed Martin's commentary I must say.

What I like doing is watching it at home with my mates and a couple of beers. During the day we also have a barbecue and so on. It is always a great nd relaxing day :-)

Sorry about that :( Check with friends (or your hotel) if they carry Cablecom, if they do you can watch the BBC feed , HD too. But to be honest it's pretty rare for hotels to have it.

Just returned from a 3-week holiday in South Africa where I watched the Turkey race at:

Constantia Stables B&B in the leafy suburb of Constantia on the other side of Table Mountain from Cape Town.
http://www.constantiastables.co.za/
Run by a lovely couple, and Rick is a fully paid-up F1 nut and Button fan.

...and Barcelona at:
Manor 38 in Port Elizabeth.
http://www.manorcollection.co.za/

both of these are quite upmarket choices, but they have good flat-screen TVs in the rooms showing the main SA sports channels (BBC feed) and are run by friendly people.

In addition to the Brass Monkey, F1 fans in Taipei can also watch their races at The Tavern, another sports pub close to the Taipei 101. It has a whole set of large and small screens, so that there is a screen at nearly every seat, and in case a big guy blocks your view, you can have 2 or 3 back-up screens at any moment. They show the F1 transmission of the BBC.
Prices are rather European, but their choice of beverages and food is good.

I will probably check out the Brass Monkey today or tomorrow.

Thanks Engel, I'll try that, I'll be back in Geneva for both the Canadian and European GPs. Will miss the get-togethers with my GP buddies, had a great afternoon with them yesterday.

Hello,
I'm in Athens for a week, any suggestions where I can watch the Canadian GP this weekend? I'm staying near Syntagma Square.
If I can't find a bar to watch in, can someone tell me which TV channel I should try to find in the hotel?
Thanks
George

Hi George.
Don't know of any venues but....
The race is on Alpha TV
http://www.alphatv.gr/

There is also an IPTV service in Greece called Con-X which shows all sessions.

Good luck.

Just do what I did (see my previous post). Walk about the Plaka until you see a TV in a bar then say you'll buy three beers if they change to F1 ... worked a charm for me anyway.

Not an F1 question, but I thought I'd throw it in here just for grins--does anyone know of a web source where one can watch DTM races after the fact in the US? I know the DTM site and Audi TV stream them live, but I can't always get up at 5:00 a.m. to catch them.

Any ideas would be most appreciated.

I watched it in Manhattan once with that group. Problem is that you will not hear any sound because people dont stop talking - bunch of goddam geeks it looked like to me.

So you'll get to see it but thats all. Good luck!

Paris: We watched the Singapore race at The Moose, a Canadian sports pub, located at 15, rue des quatres vents, in the 6th Arr. I think the website is www.mooseparis.com or similar. Canadian beer too!

Good day ladies and gentlemen!

I will be in Paris for Korean GP. So will be very thankful for any help regarding where i can watch both qualy and race. Canadian bar mentioned above doesn't open this early so is not an option.

And by the way does info on first page still relevant?

Your best bet,due to the airing time,(Quals 7am, Race 8)am may be your hotel/home.
TF1 is the national broadcaster and is located on channel 1 on every TV in the country.

Page 1 info may need some updating actually.

Good luck

Thanks!

Its a shame though. :( Was hoping to get more connected with french people during the events. Never liked drinking beer alone :D But still the main point is to see the race live so can't complain.

Well JP it seems you have a sixth sense for finding these places, but dont rule out your hotel room.

My brother came up to visit last year over the Abu Dhabi weekend. Despite Webber being solidly in contention for the WDC (as of Saturday morning  ) we could not find a single pub showing qualifying. EVERYWHERE was showing English Premier League or replays of the football that was played an hour before. (BTW, F1 is on free to air tv and EPL is pay tv ... so cost is not a reason for them to not show it)

Tried all the 'sports bar' haunts around the city, Woolloongabba and Caxton st. And before anyone suggests "did you ask them to change the channel" .... Caxton St after a footy match is not somewhere where you want to tick off the pub patrons.

We ended up watching live timing on his phone .... not ideal

On my Birthday and everything!!!
I always liked The Woolshed
Loads of Sky satellites and reasonable beer prices.
Dublin's got very pricey in the last few years.

Doesn't seem to be the place anymore. When I showed up half an hour before the race, I was surprised that nobody was there, and when I asked the lady there whether they'd show the F1 race that night, she didn't seem to have a clue what that was and then decided 'no'. I didn't see any screens either, except for a smallish 17 inch monitor that showed something else.

I then went to watch the race in a pub not far away, but I could not say that I can recommend it, and I forgot the name anyway.

Don't worry, I think we are grateful for every piece of advice here. And the part of the city had quite a couple of bars, so I did not have to look for a long time. :)
