I am planning to be there for the weekend; working in Timing & Scoring. I guess that Vince will be there. Any other TNFer's going?

That would be August 16/17. Yes, I'll be there...also David Birchall and Tom Johnston. I imagine Mike Gee will be there too.

That makes five. What is the quorum for a TNF meeting?

At noon on Friday I will still be driving down from Prince George. 5.00 pm would be more convenient for me.

David and I will just leave Mike Tate holding on to the microphone while we meet on Saturday at noon at Tom's trailer for the group photo. David, do you think it's safe to leave Mike by himself? :p

I thought that Mike should be using some form of German, as that's the theme of the event.
Noon on Saturday would suit me fine.

Would you buy a car from any of these guys? Left to right: Robin Fairservice, moi, Tom Johnston (TEJ), David Birchall, and Mike Gee. As close as we could come to a group photo! Behind David, you see the 1975 Johnston JM3 Formula Atlantic car. Tom was quite pleased, as driver Marty Knoll gave Ian Wood in the Rawlson a run for his money. And Barry Boor, I was sure I had packed my badge but couldn't find it! I owe you an ice cream! Or maybe Tom and I should buy ice creams for Robin, David, and Mike, who had their badges!

Things went well. One Formula Ford on top of another on Saturday, but both drivers okay. On Sunday, we had to shut down for about half an hour as a lightning storm went through. We shut off all the radios and the PA, and vacated the high metal roofed tower!

Also, at our 2005 Abbotsford reunion, Ivan Lessner kindly brought along his Austin Healey, which caught fire! The airport guy put it out! Guess what happened again this weekend! To top it off, Ivan may have also blown the engine on his Noble when he was out for exhibition laps!

My Hawaiian shirt was very appropriate! It was hot as Hades all Saturday. I was unable to attend Sunday as I had made a commitment to take my Aston DB2 to a car show a year ago before I knew the date of the Mission event. Since they had advertised the DB2 as a 'feature' car I felt I had to take it.

The Mission event suffered somewhat as a result of being on the same weekend as Monterey-all the heavy hitters had gone south. We were left with lots of small bore formula cars which, come to think of it, was what they had a t Monterey with the Formula Junior tribute!

I understand a German WW1 biplane landed on the track on Sunday and the track organisers were unaware of it's coming! Nice move by the VRC-I love it! Any photos-Vince, Robin, Tom?

I have just got home after some travelling about BC, but do have photos of the "Red Baron". Hopefully I will get them downloaded to my computer this evening and put up a couple for you.

Interesting to look up from the computer wondering what was going on and see a plane taxi passed.

Here are some pictures of the "Red Baron" - no Snoopy! Mission now has the distinction of being the second race track to have a plane land during an event. No race cars were on track when this occurred.

Wow, what a meet. I was surprised by finding out a vintage WW 1 German a/c had landed on the track. What was I doing by missing that?
Are fotos available for printing in Victory Lane mag? The one with the green flag would be super!

Barry, you'll notice my badge on my hat. Thank you again.

Great to see some of the heretofore unviewed Canadian members.

And congratulations on so many badge wearings!

Vince, I can tell you that Roger, David Beard and myself had ice-cream in your honour at Oulton Park on Sunday. With a chocolate flake, too.

I was the only one in the group not holding jewels. Is that something to be telling everyone? Will I be demoted? :
