This has been discussed time after time...

We can safely assume it's not going to happen.

Michael, even you said it's mostly pics from 2007 that have disappeared. Some are still there. 2007 was well before they started to charge, of course, and it's to be assumed that now they're charging it won't be happening.

Weirdest thing is I don't know how or even if I'm paying them!

How long have I been telling you that my photos are disappearing? Probably about seven years now. Certainly well before they hit on the idea of charging for their lousy service.
You are the only person I know that is pig headed enough to trust them.

Look at the most of the other photos that have gone in those threads, they all have one thing in common.

The photo on the Facebook page is clearly the Holmes Formcar, it shows a separate nose section, the Haehnle/my one had a 1 piece centre section including the nose

Where is the Facebook page, Greg? I can't find it.

It's strange responding to a conversation five years old. The internet is weird. Frank Gardner meant a lot to me and still does. I learnt to drive Formula Fords at his racing school in Melbourne. Before every hillclimb

or supersprint I've entered recently, I think of him and recall the things he taught me. In turn I have passed on his knowledge to everyone I've taught to drive. I wonder how many of you are still doing some kind of competition driving? I couldn't keep away from it.

PS: It's sad to hear Frank Gardener passed away today..... great race driver and doer in motorsport.

Lee, it's a Grahame Logg photo taken on 14/10/1979 at Huntley Hill, Dapto. Louise was on the track, and not in the "shrubbery".

Had the immense pleasure of driving Nigel Jones's immaculate restoration of my Mk2 Rennmax at Wakefield last Tuesday.... last sat in it in 1981 apart from a couple of slow laps at the last Vee school at Amaroo (can't remember when that was). It felt exactly right, had the pace to be on the money with the historic guys & girls. Many thanks to Nigel for his generosity on the day!

OldSuit_zps251ff9d1.jpg

Hard to believe that I managed to SQUEEZE in to the old driving suit... had to lose around 10kgs but was determined to get into it :drunk:

TopofWakefield_zps1f488484.jpg

Had good games with Paul Alessi (son of Tony) just nice to know that the fun stays with you even if the reflexes may not be quite as sharp  Had not had the pleasure of meeting Tony previously, was before my time when he raced his Mk1 Rennmax

Wow... what a list of names!

Alf and Harry Bargwanna, Phil Revell, Pat Goulding (what was he running?), Terry Harris, John Burrows, Frank Dartell, Laurie Hazelton, Des Wall, Rob Medcalf, Mike Sullivan, Rob Rumble, Ross Woodbridge, Garry Cosser, Darcy Russell I picked out that I knew somehow.

Garry Cossor was very quick in the SCV - but brutal......not sure if he crashed, or broke it.

Old Jack had to build the car strong for Garry, who always seemed fearless to me.

Edit;- Spelling correction.

You're right Greg, Garry was always very quick, but he did manage to find the surrounding scenery fairly often plus the mechanicals of the blown VW were stretched to limit with resulting  unreliability.....

So many names, so many spellings...

Not only that, but hillclimbs have never been a regular preserve of mine, so getting a hillclimber's name wrong on this occasion, one of many thousands of names I have put into entries on this forum, might be excusable. Perhaps Greg even copied my spelling because he realised I usually do get them right.

Did you notice that I recanted on my years of mispelling Alan Hamilton's name with a second 'l' in 'Alan'? It's here somewhere.

Alan East - his brother Phil is a top competitor in motorkhanas and Phil's daugher Corinne is the first woman driver to win an Australian Championship outright (two Australian Motorkhana Championships).

Our family shared a weekend with another down there once...

It was either 1958 or 1959.

While we're veering wildly off-topic...

East's still have a chain of parks down the South Coast of NSW - Kiama (still - originally their family farm where they allowed a few friends to start camping on weekends, which growed and growed), Narooma, Batemans Bay and the like.

Alan still has the Torana, still in the same livery, only with East's signs now. He also owns a production touring car Lancer Evo that did rather well at the Bathurst 12 Hour before the GT3s came along.

Oh, and Corinne's daughter Coby has started out in motorkhanas as well.

Who is 'B Revell'?

I never quite followed the Revell dynasty but wasn't Ray the brother or cousin of Aub? Is 'B' perhaps the offspring of Ray?

That's a "P" Revell on the blackboard not a "B" so Phillip Revell..

Peter Finlay sent me this pic of him taking Phil's Rennmax (My Dad's old Vee)
for a test drive at OP for an article he was writing for Racing Car News.

Ray, dad was running his old red nota. Still runs it occasionally. Barry Revell I think had a Jay Bee clubman. Allan East still has his SLR/5000. Terry Harris still owns his TR3. Peter Stenning later had the Holden engined IRM. Ian's Racing Machine, built by Ian Fergusson from Dunnedoo in the 60s. Ray Butterworth had the Bowin that was the ex Fergusson car. Des Wall was running his EH Holden. Paul Aitken ran the Couger Leyland, a big banger sports car with. 4.4 alloy Leyland, currently being restored by one of the 888 race engineers in qld. Rob Medcalf was in a his 1st home built clubman, a wedged shaped bronze coloured corolla engined clubbie. Mike Sullivan would have been running the ex John White Milus ford, curly Cowan in his lotus super 7.
