I couldn't help but note the Ferrari-esque configuration of the steering wheel.

Yes Greg.  I think he built 5 of them.   4 genuine ones and one from a Jay Bee.  Rob passed away about 6 years ago.

I should have known that Pat was in his Nota, wasn't he always?

Rob's Robin's got pretty serious when his son was driving them... the budget increased substantially.

Ray, with Robs Robins, Keith McClelland drove it very succsessfully for a number years. VW Golf engine and pretty much unbeatable.

And dad has two Nota's.  His old red one and ironically a 67 model that was built by rob medcalf when he lived in Dubbo.

Sorry for hijacking the Vee thread guys.

Seems you've met my Lamco before Greg ...do you have any memories (or photos) of Mark Wilson at Amaroo in 1981
his race number at this time was #41 and colour blue, probably the Ford colour "Deep Aqua"

Can't say I remember him Paul, and haven't seen anything in my photos, don't think he was in the lead group

The Formula Vee Association of NSW have announced a date for their Golden Jubilee Celebration.

"2015 marks 50 years of Formula Vee motor racing in Australia. The first Formula Vee race was held at Warwick Farm raceway in December, 1965. To launch our 50th year of Formula Vee racing, the FVANSW in conjunction with Wakefield Park, will hold a race meeting on the weekend of February 14 &15, 2015. Our aim is to bring everyone involved in Formula Vee, both past and present, together to celebrate, reminisce, race and show off all things Formula Vee. Whether you are a current day racer, a Formula Vee car owner, or someone who has been involved in Formula Vee in the last 50 years (racer, car owner, committee member, pit crew, car or engine builder, enthusiast , etc) we want to see you at this event.

The weekend agenda will include:

Racing -for both 1600 and 1200 racers- (To be confirmed) as round 1 (NSW Round) 2015 Formula Vee Australian series and round 1 of the NSW Club Pointscore.

Regularity event- For those enthusiasts who own a Formula Vee but may not have a current CAMS license and do not want to be part of the weekends Formula Vee racing program, get yourself and your Formula Vee on the track and participate in a regularity event. AASA Competitors Licences can be purchased on the day to make you eligible to participate.

Parade Lap and Car Display- Get your car out of the shed(1200 and 1600). No Excuse not to participate in filling the Wakefield Park grid- this will make for a great photo.

Party & Awards Dinner- Saturday Night dinner and celebration at the Goulburn Workers Club.

So save the date and get ready- we want all formula Vee cars to be pulled out of sheds, cleaned up and be ready for what will be a great weekend of Formula Vee activity and celebration.

More event information will become available shortly.

regards

FVANSW Committee

October, 2014"

I will also ask Allan Martin who lives nearby ( Blue Nota 67 and 68 season)

Seems as if this event is the subject of the Historic column in Auto Action next week...

It might get some more mention if people keep me informed of developments along the way.

It'll be good to see Smithy out and about.

You left an 'n' out of Rennmax, but I think you got away with it....without Ray noticing. ;)

Hopefully it will run as a Wakefield Park event [AASA], otherwise it will mean I [an many others] will be a non-starter.

Yeah Greg AASA. I believe the other support categories are the ones left off the wakefield  300 meeting.  It's definitely Mathew's meeting. No Paul I don't think there is an entry available yet. I'm letting people know on behalf of the FVANSW and will let people know via here as things develope.

Support events? What support events?

Isn't this an opportunity for that long-awaited openwheelers-only meeting?

Thanks for that David, yes please keep us up to date on behalf of FVANSW, much credit to Matt Ronke as he got behind the idea right from the start,

great that it's gathering momentum so soon after the official announcement.

After a 2hr 'chat' this morning it seems that the original Formcar driven by Cussack will be in attendance. We may see a Beach also if it can get transport from Adelaide.

Actually I must say that I am good friends with a guy who was a golf caddy on the secondary tour in the USA up until recently, and the stories of how many people you could fit in a motel room were legendary.
Despite the multitude in the motel room, the only complaints were over who was paying for the beers, and who was paying for the pizza's.

yes  she's been contacted and is a definitely maybe. the car in the picture I think going by the nose is the Lynx, the first GAS. Liz Bailey is currently running it in historics in the Group Auto colours. She's been contacted but is committed to the phillip Island meet in March along with 23 other vees so probably won't be there but Steve Davis is the current owner of Verona's Allget and we are tying to get it down as well
