I agree that 1993 was a truly great year for the DTM with the Alfas in competition with 190 Mercs.and Opels
It really made our BTCC series look like banger racing and still does today with their with Seat diesels and Daiwoos (sorry Chevrolets).
It would be bood to see BMW leave the boring "World" series and go head to head with Mercedes and Audi , that would really be a spectacle .
Maybe they fear the competition ?

Indeed a memorable season, which was covered by Eurosport at the time? I didn't have access to that particular channel, but asked a friend to video the races for me, which he mostly did.
The Nurburgring round included the on-board footage of Nicola Larini in the Alfa 155 doing a full practise lap! Totally awesome viewing.
I dug them out after this thread jogged my memory, only to find that someone (possibly wife, probably son) had recorded over some of them. But I still have a few races safe.
I don't think the DTM has ever been as good as this
