Just for a test Graham, I have uploaded this picture of some random bloke standing by a TZ.
Adding text to the picture seems to work for me with Image Shack! Click on the "more reply options" button for a preview.
Hi Phil :) !
Still can't get the bloody emoticons to work though - this smiley only appeared when I did the two dots and a bracket texty thing - then the proper smiley just appeared!
Can't get any to work by clicking on them!

Yes Phil, had a quick chat to Nigel at Jurby, just a "Howz Phil's bike going?" sort of thing.
How did he like it - did it go ok?
Gotta say....what a bloody amazing event - words can't really do it justice!

What really hacks me off is the these adverts on the right hand side that cuts the picture down and shoves the text about.  Is there any way of preventing this ?

No, because up to now we have been lucky not to have to pay for this forum, but the forum was not without cost & the people who own it (Autosport/their publishers) need to make it pay, so annoying as the new changes & adverts are, it is that or it will be closed down sooner or later? :well:

I'm a little concerned the way that posts have dropped off lately

Indeed, just looking back this page covers nearly two months. Sometimes a day would cover a page, although sometimes not helped by repeat postings of all the photos!

Sadly I think the FB thing is so accessible for a bigger audience. Phil will know more than most there's a fair share of weird folk complete with their own set of rules to ruin the apparently open specialised group pages, whilst massaging their own egos in the process.

I don't know what particular point I'm trying to make, but having been shot down in flames a couple of times on fb by someone in the "hero" category, who's surrounded by a bunch of unknowing sycophants, purely over his own misunderstandings of "English" posted by me...I won't be engaging further no matter how long I've known him.

I have to say whatever happens here - even back to the days of a page full of banter, is essentially more dignified & relaxed. So I do still look in.   Personal rant over

Somehow mistakenly checked the fourth icon of second row of the dashboard perhaps?

What bloody use is that option anyway!

Stuart, if you download 'Adblocker' (free) it'll stop most of the pop-up ads. I found this when I used "pistonheads" and the ads on there took up half the page.

Judging from the state of his leathers, he must have bought a job lot of yellow paint for his bike repairs.

"CS" on his helmet suggests that could be his initials? (Or could be "SC", depending....). And would the "S" on his back confirm surname?
Steve Cull comes to mind, but I wouldn't have thought so.

Could be Glenn, no emoticons & the tool bar is just greyed out?
So I can only post links to pictures not the photo itself as I have been doing hundreds of times before.

Guess it is Pierluigi Conforti.

This is what wikipedea says about him:

Pierluigi Conforti (born June 15, 1946) was an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. His best year was in 1977 when he won the 125cc British Grand Prix and finished in tenth place in the 125cc world championship.[1]

Going by Ollie Chevallier's (#16) colours this is in 1975. But no clues for the others . Some obscure "locals" at the British GP ? ( or was it the John Player GP ? wasn't 75 the last year the TT counted for the World Championship ? )
