Can anybody tell me about Stuart "Duke" Donaldson, who lived in the New York area in the 1950s?

He purchased a Frazer Nash in 1952, entering it in the first Sebring 12-hours which it won, driven by Larry Kulok and Harry Grey.

I have photos of him but I am not sure what his role was in motor racing or the motor trade generally, other than entrant at several races.

Duke (I believe his full name was John Stuart) Donaldson owned a couple of Indy Cars between 1955 and 1961. I have his hometown as Lake Success in New York. Chief mechanic was the well known Joe Scopa for a while, drivers Tony Bonadies, Bill Cheesbourg, Cliff Griffith, Jimmy Daywalt, Dutch Schaefer, Eddie Johnson, Chuck Arnold, Dempsey Wilson, Bud Tingelstad and possibly Ed Elisian. Pretty sure he owned Midgets, too. Seem to recall him dealing in British cars, Jags and/or Triumphs?

Donaldson was also the promoter and track announcer at the Freeport Speedway in Freeport New York in the early to mid 1960's:
