These two photographs were presented to our group during our annual event this weekend and we are attempting to locate additional information.

On back of the photograph on left is "Jack LaCain" and on back of photograph on right is "DeResta". We do believe these were taken in 1910/1911 in Savannah, GA.

Thanks to all!

I agree, that's Dario Resta on the right. Have been browsing my recently received 1950s Motor Sport CD and there's a photo of him in the March 1950 edition.

Yes, definitely Dario Resta on the right. And that looks like Bob Dahnke, his usual riding mechanic in America, in the background. That would date the picture 1915 to 1919, I'd say. Not the Vanderbilt or Grand Prize in '15, because there he had another mechanic.

As for Jack LeCain, I don't recall any pictures of him that I would have access to, so I can't really comment. That steering wheel certainly looks like an early teens car. Needs more research.

Who will be the first to come up with something, Brian?;)

Possible that the photo(s) was/were taken on 1 June 1918, Harkness Handicap, Sheepshead Bay.

Jack LeCain drove a Delage,
and Resta his Resta Special:

I applaud the notion of the drilled spokes on the steering wheel
