Gonna pick the collective AtlasF1 brain.

Apparently its a bug, but Ive ( and 2 others) been stuck twice in a row after a wet qually, getting times in following quallies like it thinks im still on wets. Even get "excellent lap" BS, but again, im 11 sec off the pace and last.
Its fine in races, prac etc, but for qual its just stuck.....2 races after the fact. And no, I havent actually left wets on lol.

Anyone know how to unstick this?

edit: fiddeling about with your 'timing' sliders for qually runs seemed to do the trick.

Atlas "Finish Dead Last Indy 500 #2"

Taking a ride in last ZPL game I've just started a new "Finish Dead Last" game, as it seems we'll have some players from ZPL#16 who will really try to lose if they join us!

At first, as always, only Atlasers are invited, either here or in the BB.

In a couple of days I'll share this one with with Mark and people from ZPL. If necessary I'll post in bat BB in a week or so. Full field would be nice, it only takes 5 days of play, and trying to lose can really improve winning skills, believe me!

I filled up my publics immediately after my Xmas hiatus, so I won't be able to try the new V8s or GTs in a couple of weeks... I'm currently practising breathing techniques just to survive.

The publics join lists have been rubbish lately though, jammed with F1s. I hope it passes soon or getting into fun games will be a bitch.

I'll start with V8S 2010:
Series Information

This series is inspired by the V8 Supercars 2010 Season. For various reasons look-a-like names and car liveries have been used.

It is assumed the player is already familiar with the original BATracer V8S carset, such as the greater challenges facing drivers trying to get a good setup. However, this has a very different race calendar and event format - gone are the reverse grid races and using previous race finishes to decide grids. Many races are also longer, and - due to a shift to E85 fuel - stints are shorter, resulting in more pitstops.

7 race meetings involve two largely identical length races - allowing you a 2nd shot at getting your strategy right if you screwed up previously. 5 race meetings involve 2 races of differing lengths. On top of this, there are the special "L&H 500" and Bathurst rounds which have unique formats.

Qualifying

Almost all races use the following qualifying format:

The initial race at each venue uses a 3-stage qualifying format. Only 1 car is knocked out during the first session, which acts as largely a practice/warmup event - try not to crash before qualifying begins properly! The next session reduces the number of cars down to the top 10, where the fight for pole is concluded in the final phase. This is the best approximation we could find for the real series - with the only change being the addition of a single car being knocked out in the first phase.

The second race does something slightly different. The real series uses an exact repeat of the first, but following this format would result in gameplay taking almost 2 months to complete! From a gameplay point of view this also lacks variety. Therefore, qualifying for the 2nd race is decided by practice times which makes the game nearly 2 weeks shorter, but also more varied.

L&H 500

This event has a unique qualifying race, the finishing positions thus deciding the grid order for the main event. The pre-qualifying race grid order is decided by the usual 3-stage format.

Bathurst

This is a single-race event and qualifying is based on the usual 3-stage format.

Points

Points are awarded for all finishes, even if you come last. A retirement offers no points at all.

The points are awarded as follows:

Pitstops

Although pitstops are no longer mandatory (except at the L&H 500 Qualifying Race) a fuel limit restriction means pitstops are made at all races anyway. The race strategy page will provide you with your available options for pitstops, which differ from race to race.

MS GT Challenge:

Series Information

This is a special bonus set! It takes an old, notorious (banned!) used-submitted carset and recycles it using elements from LMES, but with previously unimplemented GT style cars. The original calendar is used from the banned set, with copyright material removed. In addition, the format of each race has been tweaked slightly with more laps (but fewer than LMES) providing a more easy going GT-experience.

There are two classes in this set. Each class has its differences, and with most multi-class carsets the experience is unique in each car, so it's well worth trying out each.

Format

There are two races at each venue, with the grid for the second race decided by the finishing order from the first race. We have permitted pit stops to be entirely up to the drivers and teams, though the longer 2nd race requires at least 1 stop due to fuel requirements.

Points System

Winner 30
2nd 24
3rd 20
4th 16
5th 12
6th 10
7th 8
8th 6
9th 4
10th and onwards 2

You do not get any points if you retire, but if you do finish, you score at least 2 points.

Thank goodness for that points system. The one thing that's plain stupid in LMES is that a DNF is penalized like you were a mass murderer or something, even as a DNF can come from being run over by some much more aggressive nimrod (and error/mech DNFs are random too when they could just as well "just" cause you to lap slower).
