Just one race to go and the question on everybodys lips - who will chase down the amazing Juan Kerr in his quest for the coveted GTG Crown!!? Juan Kerr - a veteran of the sport who sent shockwaves through the forum last year with his strong Top 5 performance has stepped up another gear this season. He holds a 7 point lead (just like a certain Mclaren driver ;) ) Can he keep the consistency going and cross the line as the years No.1? The F1 press certainly think so. Good luck Juan Kerr
So who can challenge for the much lusted after GTG crown? Well, you cant look past sergino who has been in stunning form of late and possibly the only player Juan Kerr is believed to fear. Just 7 points adrift he is in the best position to take down the championship leader.
Next up is race addicted who has been red hot this season. He'll have a little competition though as 2006 GTG Champ shays is tied with him and only 8 points away from the championship leader. Shays will attempt to do what no other person has done - claim a second GTG championship. He is infact the closest that anyone has ever been to doing so. History could be made....
Hot on their heels is Fisichella_2001 - who is coming off strong 2006 and 2007 seasons. Some even consider him to be one of the best players to not have won a GTG champion.
A flurry of late betting activity has elevated aisiai as one of the dark horses to take out the crown and why not - a more deserving competitor you will struggle to find.
Apex a GTG veteren who finally has the machinery he deserves is still hanging in. Apex wasnt available for comment but his management indicate he is undergoing closed door training in order to stay fit and focused for the intense run home!
dnbn and mark f1 were at today's press conference and laughed off there chances at the title. But one would be foolish to write them off just yet. Atleast a podium is still available for the fan favourites.
The sentimental favourite for the championship could possibly be none other than LB who had a spectacular DNF in Monaco. Without the DNF he would currently be near the top of the table. This is his last gasp effort -all at his home GP!!
But though the bookies may favour aisiai - the fans are screaming Xig Xig Xig!! Meanwhile - the mercurial Estwald is up there battling for the championship once again and he certainly also has alot of fans supporting him after his valiant efforts of years gone by.
The lovely tania_walesuk has set hearts afire, but even more impressively she has set the track on fire too.
Then we have an array of hot shots who can sneak there way into a good result.....the reigning world champMakarias and the enigmaticville will continue there season long scrap, as willdank and long time arch rival estoril85 . And never count out scheivlak or Hotwheels - two crowd favourites gunning for the championship. Crazy Canuck is always capable of producing surprises and Matt Foster has been talking tough of late - confident it seems in his machinery!
Any of these players can win or score a top 10 result and so too can some I havnt mentioned! Good luck to all!

ROUND 17 - GUESS THE GRID IN CHINA
Here are the Rules and Scoring system for Round 17:
1. List your guess of the top 10 qualifiers (ON THE GRID) in Shanghai This year this will mean the actual top 10 qualifying order of Saturday qualifying session BEFORE penalties are taken into account.
2. Please follow the below instructions for the way in which to post your guesses.

When posting your guesses please post them in the following manner - put your user name and then your selections as follows (these are examples only)

Please do it in this way so that the scores can calculated quicker. Make sure that you use only the first FOUR LETTERS in the drivers SURNAME .
3. Post your guesses anytime before Friday First Practice . You can change your guesses as many time as you like as long as its done before Friday First practice. Any posts or changes made after FRIDAY first practice will be INVALID! Please get them in by Friday First Practice at the latest as it makes it easier to calculate the scores. Late entries made on the friday will have to receive approval from myself to be allowed in the game. So you will have to plead for mercy - though I may even accept bribes.;) Entries received after FRIDAY will not be accepted in any circumstance.
4. Scores will be calculated as follows:
* + 3 points for being spot on . (ie. Selecting Button in 4th and he actually qualifies 4th)
* + 2 points for being one position away from where the driver actually qualifies (ie. Selecting Raikonnen in 3rd and he qualifies either 2nd or 4th)
* + 1 point for having a driver you selected qualifying anywhere in the top 10 (not spot on or one away) ie. Selecting Hamilton 5th but he qualifies 9th
* + 5 points if you manage to correctly pick all positions in the top 10. (Note – no one has done this in the last 5 years)
AND JUST TO CLARIFY some confusion - for example if you pick Massa 10th and he qualifies 11th you get 2 points, ie 1 position away. The fact that he is out of the top 10 makes you lose no points because you picked him one away at 10th.
5. The grid the result will be calculated on is that which is announced by the FIA immediately after saturday qualifying. Therefore any subsequent penalties will not be taken into account.
6. If a driver you selected is replaced during qualifying – his replacement will be substituted in his place in your guesses unless you change it before Friday First Practice.
7. Results will be calculated soon after Qualifying is completed. Look out for a results thread to be posted by garth_b. This thread will feature the round’s results, a championship table, commentary etc. The results thread can then be used as a results discussion thread by you all.

PLEASE NOTE: If a driver you choose unable to qualify and race for whatever reason - you can ammend your selections as long as it is before Friday First Practice. If you dont get a chance to ammend your guesses - then we will calculate your score based on whowever replaces him
