LOL. I think I'm OTL at the Nurburgring. The final chicane is SO crucial. I try and take the turn after the S1 flat but often get a snap of oversteer... Hungaroring is just one of my favourite tracks and it was a very good lap. Advice for Hungaroring would be to brake about 60m, brake very late for the chicane, maybe 50m and you have to anticipate the bump on the turn prior to the S2 split. Last corner, hung the inside and go flat out

Ok, thx! Will try tomorrow again and yes the last chicane in Germany breaks or makes a laptime, I was flying over them as I always try to do but after that chicance I went a bit too much over the left cruve and losing time, then turning in a 75% perfect line to the straight, but still a nice time thanks to the 2nd spilttime of 1:02.9 and a reasonable droven last chicane :)

Holy crap... those times are insane, I already know I cannot go any quicker, because I was on the limit during the steering and think setup is also very good. How can you go so fast? Are you flying? :rotfl:

Edit: Surprise, I found a new way in setting a new lap record and here are all my new record laps:

Australia: 0:00.001
Malaysia: 0:00.001
China: 0:00.001
Bahrain: 0:00.001
Silverstone: 0:00.002
Nurburgring: 0:00.001
Valencia: 0:00.002
Hungary: 0:00.001
Spa: 0:00.003
Monza: 0:00.001
Singapore: 0:00.002
Interlagos: 0:00.001
Japan: 0:00.002
Abu Dhabi: 0:00.001

Sorry all you guys, but it seems I took all golds now. I still left some space for you guys to improve on Hungary, Japan, Singapore, Nurburgring and Spa was a terrible lap. Good luck you guys!!!

Christ Lewis, I'm surprised you posted that Spa time, aren't you a little embarrassed or did you use the FI with standard setup, have you tried the Brawn yet I think you can improve those times with the Brawn ;)

Personally I've gone back to the reason I got into this game in the first place and started a 100% race distance full season, although I am finding it a little easy so when I've finished the season I may start one with a much slower car.

I looked it up, but I forgot to save it!

If I remember correctly it's quite the same as my other setups, 100% downforce, front ARB 100, rear 20, springs around 30.

I can take the first right hander flat out and also, with a good line you can take the last chicane at a very high speed.

@Jay, :rotfl: yeah Monaco is so hard, that's why I lost so much time. I never drove a 100% race, so that takes 1,5 hour? (0,5 hour shorting because of the faster laps?) But cannot save during the race.... so I think I will try a 50% race first. What do you think of the Force India? :cat: I was so used to the camera/roof-view of the brawn that I could drive well in other cars, lol. Every car has his own camera/roof-view? Cannot go fast in the RB because the mirrors are getting the attention... :p

@MiG, :rotfl:  thx for the table!!! :cat: I saved it  It does look the best! But why did you made another table? Do you think the times are not for real

@A3, you should make a video of your recordspage and put it on youTube and then send the URL to Codemasters, they might send you the next game for free or something because I really think most times are world records. :stoned:

@Everyone else, so we can now compete with each other for the silver/bronze medals?  :rotfl:

50% race distance is actually quite difficult, as the number of pitstops you can take is limited but the tyre wear is twice as quick as a 100% race distance and due to players pitstops taking 4 seconds longer than computer cars you have less laps to claw the time back. Unless you race without tyre wear of course but I feel that takes something away from the game.

I'm presently doing a 100% distance season but would say 75% is probably best if you have 90mins to spare for each playing session, no in race saving does suck a bit.

Well yes, not only does your version of the game obviously let you have quicker lap times, but quite possibly the AI is slower too. I reckon the internal clock is slower on your game, I bet your at least 5 seconds a lap slower than the rest of us really :p

Have you tried a race with ALL driving aids off including the traction control, tyre wear on and in a Torro Rosso, because that makes it a little harder and I don't think anyone can say they've beaten the game until they've at least done it with all driving aids off. After all the AI was designed so that it's possible to beat it without the use of any driving aids and that's a lot more difficult than driving hot laps with an illegal traction control system working

Istanbul - 1:23.031. I literally cannot drive that track!!
Monza - 1:19.117 - I was comparing my sector times with A3's and I'm a tenth down in S1, four tenths down in S3 but a massive 1.2s down in the middle sector...

Hello, do you use manual or automatic shifting on the Wii?
If you want to have a close-to-complete-madness experience, set manual shifting on the PSP and put some laps in, e.g., Monaco. :stoned:
If you are able to do it without hitting every single wall, not only you would have all my admiration, also you could likely learn to play any classical piano tune like a professional player

I use auto shifting on the Wii, tried manual shift at Aus and that was an experience but I can imagine Monaco would be pretty manic, think you need a proper wheel with pedals so you can free up a hand for gear changes.

Does the PSP have a thumb stick for steering because if that could be used for throttle and brake as well, then you would have a free hand for gear changes.

I remember playing the old F1GP game by Geoff Crammond using a joystick for left-right and throttle and brake, then change up gear by pressing fire button when accelerating and down shift when braking or coasting, so you could do all the controlling plus gear changes with one hand and beer in the other  :)

For me, I use the arrows on the left to steer and I use auto-shift. I can't use gears on the psp, i find it too fiddly. Hopefully it'll be easier on F1 2010 on the 360. Are they having the option of a clutch?

Variante della Roggia: Brake hard and turn in so you go a bit over the left curb and then use alot of the right curb. Not too much, you'l get DQ-ed.

First Lesmo is full throttle, brake early for the second Lesmo (3rd gear) and get on the throttle asap as this is important for the long straight, no curbs here.

Have tried it with no driving aids, but I think it's useless. In the real cars the throttle and brake are no on/off buttons. :p

Well, there's Parabolica, which is actually a very tough and important corner. I try to steeri in, then brake a little bit and then hit the throttle again trying not to go off on the left.

And Variante Ascari, I use a but of the left curb and then I'm with half of the car on the right curb on the right hander. Can't really exlain it.
I'll try to post a video when I have time, but I have to say I really, really nailed that lap, it was 6 tenths faster than anything I did before.

First Lesmo is full throttle, brake early for the second Lesmo (3rd gear) and get on the throttle asap as this is important for the long straight, no curbs here.

Hello, A3. How much wing has your setup for Monza? I think this is one of the few tracks in which you cannot set 100%(about 70 for me), but I'm not sure and maybe it's my own psicological resistance to do it, based on the fact that in all of the games I've played before, this track has always the minimum downforce.
THX

BTW, what does the map say about Mika? :drunk:

Thanks for the tips there A3, problem is that's exactly how I've always driven those corners but I'm still 1 second off your time so have you got anything else?

Jay, is your sheet time for Monza right? 1:19 - 1:17 = 2 seconds. Are you talking about 2nd sector or maybe you are too optimistic :rotfl:

Just being optimistic buddy, 1 second didn't sound so embarrassing as 2 seconds, hoped no one would notice

Has anyone earned all of the awards yet, I've only got one left to get "Win 8 WDC's". Just wondered if you get any special reward for getting all 30 awards ?
