I've heard that since it went off the calendar in 2006 that they've been doing some work to improve the facilities. Anyone got any pics of what they've been doing? :)

Link to pictures of the reopening.

The TV boxes are over the main stands on the other side of the track now.
The boxes have become bigger.
All seats are now numbered.

I just want to know if Moto GP will return. Motegi sucks.

They didn't change the track layout, did they?

Suzuka is one of the best tracks in the world

Motegi never looks like much but it's a very good lap. I wish the Indycars would use it instead of the oval. They will never go back to Suzuka, it is frighteningly dangerous for a motorcycle.

The Japanese GP is there this year. It alternates now with Fuji.

What about the endurance race? Motegi has produced crap...

Thanks, never saw that link until now.

Although the layout is thankfully unchanged, it looks like they've destroyed a few corners with tarmac run-off areas and astroturf.

Where is the challenge of T1/T2 now that there is tarmac there?

Great up dates. Wonderful work.

It is now more of huge stadium rather than a open air camping site... ;)

For the speed bikes like MotoGP produce and after the death of Daijiro Kato, it is not smart. Even the 8 hours race, and local superbike races are in question because of the safety issue.
