We had the pleasure of running a reverse cylinder TZ for our Tims initial season on 250gp bikes .
It was a real beauty 3TC ('90).
There was one thing always a must , that being that if the bike wasn't started on the back wheel ,it was imperative to put the fairing back on before pushing the bikes because (as mentioned by Leggy) the front wheel would hoover up anything and accurately throw it straight into the belmouths!.
The two piece crank was a gem , much missed when overhauling modern TZ and RS machines and the sound of one on a long straight in top is still giving delight to v twin crews on the pit lane .
Unfortunately ,because of their deltabox frames ,the Hooray Henrys at the Classic Club won't allow these beauties in so most of them are sleeping in garages and front rooms etc.

so I presume the airbox/filter was a part of the fairing then?.....ahhh now it makes sense!
You see them on Ebay now and then and for what you get, they always seem pretty cheap. I'm very tempted, but as you say...there's nowhere to race them!
