Duncan Forlong and his AC
This photo is from around 1960 or 1961.

In our series about SCCA drivers in the Southeast we are about to start one on Duncan Forlong, one of the top Florida drivers of the late 50s. He was from Tampa and ran mostly AC Bristols. During the March 9, 1959 Regional at Boca Raton he stunned the racing crowds by taking his AC to victory in the feature race, beating Italian exotics such as George Koehne's Maserati 200SI, Lucky Casner's Ferrari 500TR and John Phipps 1.5-liter OSCA in the rain.

Duncan's son Doug Forlong has sent us the first photos for the thread.

This photo of Duncan Forlong comes to us from his friend Joe Sheppard, via Joe's friend Jack Shea. By all accounts Duncan was a very well-liked racer.

Jack Shea has just informed us that Duncan Forlong died more than a year ago, on November 26, 2015, a result of kidney failure. Born in Winnipeg, Canada, on September 10, 1926, Duncan moved to Tampa, Florida, to become one of the best AC/Bristol pilots around the Southeast in the late fifties. He began his race career with an Austin-Healey 100 and drove his final race at Daytona in a Porsche S90 in 1966.
