I have a photo of Jim Clark in a Lotus 30. The car carries the number 82. I can find only two races where Clark used this number, Aintree 200 of 1964 and Mosport Players 200 of 1965. Clark was in Vancouver BC in October of 1965 handing out these photos. I had two of them signed along with my drivers licence. The question is, which track is the photo taken at? Will try to attach copy -- wish me luck

cheers bob k.

Mosport - the 30 at Aintree didn't have the yellow nose flash, etc.

A snap I took of Jimmie's L30 in the paddock for the 1965 running of the Player's 200 @ Mosport. Looks like the deal is sealed what with the tape over the headlights and all.

Difficult to identify the exact location from Bob K's initial posting but it might be coming over the brow of the hill @ T2. The image below may provide a clue and is from the 1964 running of the Canadian GP for Motos. Dig that crowd protection!

Thank you to Doug and Manfred for getting the Location sorted.

Tom, you are correct, I do not plan on getting rid of any time soon although I did have one framed and gave it to my son last Christmas . The other picture and my licence I plan to keep in their place of honour in my den.

As a matter of curiosity, what would the value be for the autographed photo? There must have been a lot given away that day.

Any other pictures of the 30 from the Mosport event?

cheers bob k.

Hi Bob -

I just noticed that the car is a Series 2 Lotus 30, made in 1965, so it can't be the Aintree 64 race.

(I've had a bit of a cold lately. I should have noticed that sooner...)

That autographed photo is excellent. There is a small photo of the car taken from the other side in Tom Burnside's 'American racing', p.309. It is part of a 16 page section on the Player's 200 meeting at Mosport.

Mike and I are glad everyone enjoyed their day out! It was the usual hard work (especially Mike) to pull it all together, but we think it worked quite well. Keep your eyes peeled for info on next years' Festival!
