This car was apparently 151.004 and doesn't exist any more, and the Kaus car was a replica, according to this:

Here is 004's record according to Bollee/Oosthoek Maserati Tipo 151 , The last monster from Modena :

1962 Le Mans retired after 12 hours running as high as 2nd
1962 Road America retired after 90 of 125 laps running 3rd
1962 Riverside with 5.7 engine finished 11th
1963 Daytona practice , Ford 7.0 engine destroyed in accident

If it is the same car that had the Ford 427 installed by Alfred Momo it was crashed at Daytona in 1963 with Marvin Panch driving. There is a photo in Finn's 'Maserati - Postwar Sporstracing Cars' showing it on its roof blazing away surrounded by fire trucks. Apparently after Cunningham had looked at the remains he said it wasn't worth taking back to New York and it was to be sold on the spot. This suggests that there was something left to sell.

Again referring to the "Monster" book.....car was burning Panch trapped inside....."Seconds after the succesfull rescue (of Panch) the Maserati's fuel tanks exploded , rendering chassis 004 a complete write-off.
(1 picture on the roof burning , 1 picture upright showing 004 after the burn-out). The Cunningham crew trucked its remains back to New Yourk , they were unsure what to do with the burned-out hulk ".

Cunningham sold the remains of 151.004 (then fitted with 427 Ford engine) to Chuck Jones, after Marvin Panch had totalled it on his first practise lap at Daytona 1963.
Presumably it was sold 'as seen'!

From Willem Oosthoek:

"Chuck Jones told me in an interview a few years ago that the charred remains of chassis 004 were in fact given to him by Briggs Cunningham, who had moved on to E-types and Cooper/Buicks. Briggs was impressed by the performance of the Jones-owned sister car, 006, in which Skip Hudson managed to finish the 1963 Road America 500. The original owner of 006, Briggs donated various parts to Jones, who was running his team on a shoestring: the damaged 004 chassis, three spare V8 Maserati engines, a couple of gearboxes and various other parts. According to Jones the 004 chassis was of little use and ended up in a Southern California landfill. The landfill was near Newport Beach and is currently the location of a football field owned by the University of California."

Chuck Jones in Tee shirt at back of car.

That is Briggs Cunningham in the jacket talking to Chuck. This is from 1963 at Elkhart Lake and the car is the Chuck Jones owned 006 Maserati 151 Coupe that was driven by Skip Hudson in this event.
