Six minute film of 1956 Monaco Grand Prix. This does not show Peter Collins friend but does have a brief view of Fangio with an affectionate arm around his lady friend and also an attractive blonde in the pits a few seconds later with - who is this? But I mainly put it up because it is very much in keeping with the ambience of the photographs shown in this topic. It is also one of the best films of that era in terms of clarity, focus and sharpness.

I'm not sure as to whether it is OK to post the following image - if not then I will delete it immediately.

Tony, perhaps you could call me on Barnet 0239 and pass on any information you might have, Peter always did have a nice taste in birds.

I wish they would still build cars and women like that today...

I wish they would still build men like that today.
I think we all do.

I know I need to get a life but this thread got me in.

I had a look at Life magazines from 1956 (on eBay) to see if any covers gave an indication to a possible story. Two at that time might have a connection.

July 30 has a cover of the actress Pier Angeli - perhaps she was there for the Cannes Film festival - if it's her?

Also, in April 9 edition there is a story about Alfonso de Portago, but is that too early for the photos?

I am certain it's not her... The mystery remains!

Very OT,
Peter Collins surrounded by his mechanics in Post*1.
The continental hairdressers were miles ahead with their skills when the hairstyles of the crew were compared with the ''pudding basin'' English [and Aus] home haircuts of the day.

Oh yes I keep going back to the picture of PC with the wasp waisted girl.

But even after all these years would she be interested in an old bloke and his 'telehone'? :rotfl:

Not as 'old' as some bloke who takes 11 months to reply to a posting. :cat:

Is someone taking the 'p'? No just being a puckle!

Dear Readers,

These pictures show Peter Collins during the 1956 Monaco Grand Prix. He married in 1957 with Louise (Cordier or King?) but is this the same girl?

He truly "liked girls" as you can read on his bumper sticker, so it might be any girl!

There ia a picture of the lady in question on another post, in which the poster speculates that the woman appeared to be French--a model perhaps--and wishes that women looked as well today.

Wonder what they're talking about...

Behind the two lovebirds on the wooden wall Eugenio Castellotti's suitcase and helmet...

Strange to see all these objects lying there, while nowadays they would be unvaluable collector's items.

Musso was there with a girlfriend, Fangio was there with Beba, Peter with this girl but Eugenio was there with his mother!

The man masquerading as GG, in the pit lane with camera, looks a bit too old for a youthful Mr Gauld in 1956 - or did he age very early??? I think we should be told. Where are you Graham?

Sorry Alan just stumbled upon this. No it is not me and for the record I was 22 that year. The photo below was taken a year later at Enzo Ferrari;s Villa Rosa which he loaned to Peter and Louise.

The question I've been wondering about: Who is the girl in Alan Cox's avatar?
