I am looking for any information regarding the current whereabouts of a 1961 Jaguar E-type that was raced at Mosport (Canada) in the spring of 1961 by Norm Namerow (see photo). This was likely the first competitive outing for a Jaguar E-type in North America. The car was red with black interior and was chassis number 875004. Norm sold the car later in 1961 to Dave Greenblatt (of Dailu fame). Dave modified the car a bit more and raced it for a couple of years before selling it on.
Any information as to where it is now would be greatly appreciated! I am not a dealer or speculator, I am a Canadian motorsport history enthusiast, a second-generation Jaguar enthusiast, and a vintage racer. Would love to restore and race this car!

Hi Daniel.........
I wish I new the whereabout of my beautiful red XKE........ the first one to arrive in North America.
I purchased the car from Norm Namerow after its first outing at the Players 200, at Mostport in 1961.
The car did NOT finish the race with a rear suspension failure.
I brought the car into my race shop and we modified the brakes, (with larger rotors and calipers in the front,
an American built power brake assist unit, and racing pads. we did minor mods to the suspension.
The engine was re outfitted with D-type heads and racing cams and Webers.
The car became a real Corvette eater........ I had a great deal of success racing this car in Canada
and the US.......... winning every event entered.
I have some additional pics of the car if you wish which I can email to you a private email address.
Regards,
David

A little off -topic, but the name Namerow jumped out at me. Is this who the last corner at Mont Tremblant is named after?

Namerow corner at Mt Tremblant, Le Circuit was in deed named after Norm Namerow , who passed away
from a heart condition at the young age of (I believe was 31). Norm was a major spirit in the early years of motorsport development in Eastern Canada. He was a semi active driver with greatr driving skills.
Norm and Peter Lerch who had saved Canada's first real motorsport magazine, "Canada Track and Traffic",
also saved Mosport from fianacial ruin. Norm who was several years older than myself was my mentor and pushed me and guided me to become an active competitor.
Thanks for the welcome back ................i have been away from this site for the past year...
Jerry Entin.........has been my most valuable link and supporter............ SO THANK YOU JERRY !!

Hello Dave!
I did not expect to find you on this forum. What a pleasant surprise!
We met a couple of years ago at Mosport, the same year one of your old Dailus was brought out and you so proudly drove it around the track. I'm the guy who gave you the video tape copy of the 1957 Mont Gabriel Hillclimb (apparently your first competitive outing). Anyone who wants to see that old color footage can go to the google video website and type into the search "mont gabriel hillclimb"
Dave: I would love to see any pictures you have of the old red E-type. My email address is mastengregory24@hotmail.com
Thanks!
Daniel

Hey Daniel......
WOW !! What a surprise....... my first event in my 1957 TR3.... entered under the assumed name of Luigi
Kolantz, at the urging of Norm Namerow..... cuz I was still under age and my parents wouldn't sign for me...
.....didn't figure there was any harm..as I had no chance at any overall position,,,especially with all those fancy Jags...... UNTIL Monday nite 6pm evening news on CBC, which my Dad watched religiously....
and they showed highlites from the JOA Hill Climb........ and behold a close up of me coming up the hill
&%@#?" words uttered loudly by my Dad.............
I will forward you pics of my 1961 #004 XKE...... to your email shortly
Anyone that wants to see more can check out my website www.dailu.com and click on the links
All the best

Family memories for me too, although I was not even conceived yet...
My father is pictured in the video, he was one of the organizers and the black XK120FHC seen parked next to the start line was his.
In the shot showing the registration table, I see my mother (19 years old) along with my grandmother and grandfather.
All of them sadly departed from this world.
Cheers,
Daniel Thompson
