A couple of things about the result thread. Please feel free to discuss, boast or generally make comments in this thread. I will try to get these results posted each race weekend before the start of the GP but no promises. You will note that the word "rookie" will appear against some names each week, this means that this is the first round they have entered this year. I will let you know how the group collectively went in guessing the final makeup of the grid by averaging all the guesses. The top ten is decided first by the ten drivers that get the most mentions, then the average of those guesses. Going forward I will also compare this to the WDC points standings, initially last years, and the super stats qualifying result as published by Autosport.com, once again this first one is based on last year.
By the way don't forget to pick 10 drivers each week, I will not be reminding you to amend your guess if you do not list enough names so you score no points for the shortfall of guesses. If you post two entries in the thread I will take the last one of these regardless of whether you then go back and amend your first guess. I usually don't find these until I am collating the results and all the timestamps have been stripped out so I have no idea which was the last otherwise. If you pick a driver twice I will pick the highest position, you will not score any points for the lower second position
On to the results for Australia. The first round is always hard to pick. Is the testing form anything to go by? Who is foxing, who has really got it right? I guess with Brawn GP only really getting going in the last few weeks they didn't have time to play the usual off season testing games and their performances on the test tracks of Europe were no flukes. Locking out the front row of the grid in their very first GP. A feat not performed since 1954! Ok, ok so they are really just a re-branded Honda team but still an amazing effort. Especially from a team that struggled to make it into the top 10 last year. So well done Ross and the team. Now enough waffling and on to the details you are really after. Who managed to make the best guess first up. That honor goes to a brand new name for GTG. Taking the top step for this first race, with an impressive score of 18, was Costaz. Second was a two way tie between gerry nassar and sblinx. Average Grid managed to emulate last year's pathetic opening round performance and scored a weak 8 points putting it 71st equal along with 9 others. WDC and Superstat both went 1 better to score 9. The average score of all players was a little over 10. Now for the full result table
