just a thought, but if an ad can be seen from a nice onboard shot why not orient the thing so it can be read? is there some stupid rule against it? virgin have a nice white canvas on the brawn nose to work with too! most ads on the cars are unreadable on tv...

There is a rule against it, believe it or not. Can't place sponsor logo's specifically for onboard camera's. Despite being done in every other category.

You. Are. Shitting. Me! I had no idea. I feel sure I had seen a couple of logo's somewhere which did appear correct through an onboard ... maybe I'm just thinking of the rear wing and the rear facing T-Camera?

I was thinking this too. I had no idea there is a rule blocking it, seems a bit harmful in the grand scheme of generating revenue to survive?

I just copyrighted this logo for my new company vjbjjn ltd... I'll lease it to Branson for £1million a year.

Well I don't think there's a rule since many logos are placed for onboard cameras. Especially those on the cockpit sidewall.

I assume then the rule must be the sponsors must be upright and forward facing. For the one everyone is referring to to be placed for the camera, it would have rearward facing on a forward facing area... if that makes sense? The ones inside the cockpit are facing forward on the surface they are placed on and they are the correct way up...

I'm sure I've just overcomplicated something needlessly with that assumption. I'm also sure someone will have an example to void what I've just said :p

Have just had a look at the rules and can't find the one applying here. Perhaps I'm just not using the right search parameters?

Section 21 covers livery.
