The search engine appears to be out of order, so excuse me if I ask a dumb question: was there ever a Formula Libre "Gran Premio Gentlemen" at Monza, or not? I have come across references mentioning such a race in 1923, albeit only previewing the event. I am only aware of the 1921 Gentlemen GP at Brescia!

I did some looking and couldn't find anything about it either . I only find the 1921 race at Brescia mentioned . One place I looked showed it as a Formula Libre race , but I have no idea about the accuracy of it's results . I've never used it before .

Yes, the answer is "no".

There's no trace about GP Gentlemen in Monza.

It's been replaced with a much-improved version, if you'd like to try it again ;)

This only took place yesterday I believe.

Yes, much improved - thanks!

Still, I can't find any trace of the race, and this puzzles me! Was it perhaps cancelled, perhaps even months in advance?

The reason I'm asking is this: when the three "Grand Prix" Miller were about to be shipped to Europe in July of 1923, it was said that a couple of the original 3-litre engines were going to be sent along with the cars in two-litre spec, to be installed following the Italian Grand Prix for use in a Formula Libre Gentlemen Grand Prix at Monza, in the time frame between the Italian and Spanish Grands Prix. I'm not sure as of yet if the engines were indeed shipped with the cars, but the plan to do so can hardly have originated without such a race at least in its planning stages, I would think!

Anyone with knowledge about Italian Formula Libre racing in 1923? :cat: :cat:
