Does anyone have a copy of:

Harry Zweifel
Die schnellsten Jahre seines Lebens
by Brägger, Bernhard

Is this the same Zweifel who entered the Alpine Rally in 1953?

THANKS!

I can answer that question :)

I now have a copy of this biography, which is great fun. The book includes
interesting photos of Zweifel's own cars, such as the Cooper-Ferrari, but also
nice shots of his rivals, such as Daetwyler's 4.5 V12 Alfa. The German was difficult
for me; I asked for help from a friend from Assen who said that the German
is difficult. It isn't a thorough or concise book: there are no lists of races, for
example. But there is a photo of the Alfa that Zweifel ran in the Alpine Rally in
1953.

A friend shared with me a list of events that Zweifel ran with the Alfa in 1953.
The list has no dates or further information. Can anyone help with these events?

Int. Bergrennen Passo Costalunga
Int. Bergrennen Passo Carlo Magno
Int. Bergrennen Passo Le Palade
Int. Mendola Bergrennen
Int. Stilfaerjoch Bergrennen

Zweifel won a Bronzenes Sportabreichen from the ACS so I think maybe
these events were included in a Swiss championship.

Can anyone help fill this in, or point me in the right direction to learn more?

The events quoted will probably all be Italian hill climbs. Bolzano- Mendola was a regular classic hillclimb for many years, Stilfaerjoch is apparently German rendition of Stelvio Pass, which was certainly used in Coupe Des Alpes Rally. Dimano(Dimaro?) - Campo Carlomagno crops up in post 1957 Mille Miglia Rally/Reliability Trials, and Costalunga and Palade seem to be in the same general Alpine area of Italy, parts of which are German-speaking to add to the difficulty. Possibly there were lesser Hill Climbs at these passes and results may be harder to find. Certainly there were a great many Italian hill climb events in the post-world-war II era. Leif Snellman's site lists a lot but only up to 1949.
