I think it's called a "Varchetto" -- Italian built pre-war 350 junior TT road racer. Supposedly they built @20 bikes from 250-500cc. Matchless (UK) engines were utilized.

Just trying to learn more about "Varchetto"? What is the story behind it? Any racing success? Who built them / created them? History?

Hi, I've never heard of it. Not sure it's pre war, nor is it a puropse built racing engine. It looks to be a G3 Matchless, which was an old pushrod plodder.

Are you thinking of Vaschetto? Built in Turin by Giuseppe Vaschetto between 1936 and 1938. But using a Matchless pushrod engine definitely takes it out of the "TT road racer" catagory.

I had a phone conversation with the person who has owned it for many many years. I could have the spelling wrong in regard to the name (possibly "Vaschetto"?). Thus why I'm trying to learn more about what it is. It seems interesting!
