Hi!
I have question. I know, that special devices for preservation of temperature of trunks (I do not know as it precisely sounds on English) for the first time were applied in F-1 in 1987. But on which race?
And you know?

I presume you mean tyre blankets? Those were used for the first time at the 1985 European Grand Prix at Brands Hatch. Lotus was the first team to use them. A bit more on this over here : http://www.atlasf1.c...view/schot.html

I'm sure I can remember a Nigel Roebuck report mentioning them using tyre blankets at the Monaco GP. It sticks out because before the race the ones on the front short circuited and blistered the tyres so Senna started with cold fronts and warm rears. Or is my memory suspect???

Marcel, are you sure that "pre-heating the tyres in order to go have the tyres on optimal temperature sooner" was one with tyre blankets?
