And - in the new opening movie there are shots from Spa !
Plus, if I have seen it correctly, some additional cars with "Race preparation" - the Prius and Honda Hybrid...

Sounds good. I'm suprised they only just added support for Logo G25/27. Will have to try it out when I get a new monitor that has HDMI input :D

You mean the mega 2.0 update?

Sadly not Don. (at least not yet)

I wasn't online for a while due to the demise of my PS3 (which I've now worked my voodoo on, and now works better than it ever has!) so I had to do a whole whack in one go! :well:

Bought me a JGTC Race-prepped Diablo. :D

Cost me nearly 10 mil! ):

Broke again...

Then saw it in the online dealership this weekend for under Cr300,000.

Cue my next 'fit of swearing' at GT5!! ):

That's strange. The Diablo should only be 750 000, and you paid nearly 10 mil? Even the LMPs aren't close to 10 mil.

The mega patch took 73 minutes to download. That's still quicker that any MSG game and approx the time it now takes me to do a Suzuka lap with the Vettel car

Apparently the DLC will be made of several modules, costing 12 USD for the complete bundle: car (15 new), track (2), gear and paint. So it should be 12 quid as well, and thanks again for the exchange rate.

well, first DLC will have Spa and some evening karting track with neon lights. and uh..too much skylines.
Good thing is you can buy them separated if you want - like track package for couple of bucks.

I think with the 2.0 update GT5 became a much nicer game, DLC or no DLC. Anyone else who like the new log-in bonus? Playing every day this week since the update I got 200% yesterday on credits and exp points. With the seasonal Vettel challenge that meant getting 10 instead of 5 million..... :D

I think the Prius Touring Car is an awesome idea! Make the Hybrids a bit more visceral and angry!!

On the otherhand, online seasonal events paid 500 000 - 600 000 credits per win and now just around 150 000.

Really? I didn't notice that. I'll have to take your word for it. The seasonals did though feel a bit "too good" compared to the regular A-spec races before. This way with the login bonus percentage they even it out a little I guess.

Anyway, you are not going to need much money if not aiming to buy all those 20 000 000 cr. cars
There's few of them.

Most of the events can do with reasonable low investments, and remember to have maintenance for your car.

No it' just Spa and some kart track for the £4.99 DLC. I expect 'no happy Tony'

I'm sure I'll get £4.99's worth out of Spa by itself, I'll use it a lot, but I was secretly hoping there'd be like 3 real race tracks included in the first DLC.

There will be more DLC in time I think, hopefully more real world tracks..

Hmmm. Better be a DAMN good cart track then!

Ah well... I'm sure that me and 'The Sheep' (don't ask...just don't  ) will also get lots of use out of Spa, but we're really missing Midfield and Seattle!

I certainly hope there is more DLC (tracks) to follow, or it might just cue my next 'swearing fit' at GT5!!

Works out cheaper than buying Spa in iRAcing (15usd).

This is the thing I always loved about GT series though. Just seeing how everyday cars stack up against each other on the most demanding tracks :) Not even necessarily against the AI, do 3 laps with 3 cars you think should be similar performance and see how they show up in the listings. Even if not realistic it's still fun, used to do it in GT1 and 2 way before Top Gear started doing it (and way, way before TG track was in GT!)

This is what I love doing in GT5... just driving different cars and seeing how they go round these tracks.

I wonder why they removed the "Back to home" icon/button from the race menu screen :drunk: . It suddenly dissapeared when I installed the latest update. (don't have 2.0 yet)

Scrolling back through every screen is a pain in the arz!

How is the UI after the 2.0 update?

How is the UI after the 2.0 update?

It's a subtle change but for example in the settings menu, instead of having to go left, left, to get to the Engine/Exhaust/etc, you can now go up, left, and it will take you to the top option on the menu (i hope this makes sense), so you don't have to go through every option just to get to the top one.

Also it feels a little 'quicker' between options, like they sped up the process of moving the 'pointer'.

In all honesty, I expect 'No Happy Tony' again :rotfl:

How come you don't have 2.0?

Loads of pics on GTplanet. It's basically the Carbon car with a new wider rear wing and an updated fan at the back. Pirelli tyres too (well Pirelli branding) but that doesn't seem to make a difference.

Spa and other goodies actually come with Spec 2 update, in store you just buy key to use them...you cannot drive Spa without spec 2 download.

I'll take that challenge Kani! (er....at least I will after I've updated it and opened the Spa track  )

Did you pay for the complete DLC bundle? If so, what was the total price? Don't know whether to buy a Eu20,- store voucher or Eu50,- (although there is some other stuff I want).

Per person......

I won't be buying it until that sort that out.

I've got 2 sons who play GT5, why do I have to cough up nearly £30 so we can all race at Spa ?

According to Kazunori Yamauchi's Twitter, a PSN/GT5 update in December will allow other users on the SAME PS3 console to access DLC cars and tracks. It would be interesting to know what really happened. I suspect DLC locked to a specific account was no accident and part of a new strategy initiative by Sony. But because of the huge backlash, they needed to find a way to back pedal on this.

I suppose it was only a matter of time though. The nature of the PSN and DLC allowed for a lot of abuse.

Isn't it possible to take the full package yourself, and just the track package for the boys?

If they want to drive the new cars you can always put them on loan.

Would that work?

On a lighter note.... I was saving 20 mil for the F2010, then remembered it was only 10 mil!

Bit crap though, innit?!

Busy at the moment collecting old muscle cars for classic NASCAR races at Daytona/Indy. :smoking:

Yep. Only Ferrari have the power to get around it, and even then they had to get special dispensation for people to be able to race them online.

Some classic F1 cars would be great, even if they have to create generic liveries for them to get around the licence issues, as they did in GT3.

yeah, i hope there maybe is something to get round so they can have those.

or, make something like what EA have on their FIFA series, like the Creation Centre, and pretty much every series they have. where you can create a car on the internet, and download it on GT5. but i guess this is a pretty farfetched idea.

I would like to see some pree WW2 classic sport and racecars like Bugatti Type 51, Bentley Speed Six, Mercedes-Benz SSKL and so on. You could make a very loooong list. And of course, classic racetracks.

Anyone seen a Plymouth Superbird anywhere? I've been through the used car dealership dozens of times now but......no show! ): (it's like looking for that bleedin' Interceptor all over again!!)

The Mustang 'Mach 1' was a bit of a let down too. Took it (unmodified) into a one make race at Daytona, and it topped out at 115mph!!

Cue the slowest and most hilarious 'slipstreaming' race ever! :drunk:

What you should have done is copied your game save file to a USB stick, start up the game, send the car to your friend, quit the game, then copy the saved file from the USB stick, start your game again. He gets a car, and you still have yours.

Next time.
