Adrian Newey's Polyphony Digital X1 Prototype:

And the Specs?

* Engine: gas turbine, 1483bhp @ 15,000RPM, 527lb ft @ 12,000RPM
* Transmission: continuously variable, rear-wheel drive
* Top Speed: 249mph
* Weight: 545kg
* Length/Width/Height: 4750/2180/980mm
* Suzuka Lap Time: 1:11.540 (compare with Vettel’s 2009 F1 lap time of 1:30.833)
* Special Features: enclosed wheels, “fan element” to increase low and medium-speed downforce (much like a vacuum cleaner)

Pretty damn impressive.

Very nice experiment, they should make one for real or even better, make enough to have a series! That thing must be very physically demanding to drive fast.

Nothing wrong with people getting passionate about things and expressing strong opinions though. I mean I felt like shaking the person in the f12010 threads who wont stop posting rants about how crap it is, but then I realised at least he cares..

What so impressive about a fake car with fake specs?

:eek: Red Bull prototype! I used to draw F1 cars with glass canopys when i was a kid but that thing takes racing car concepts to a new level! Amazing.

According to EB Games, pre-orders are not promised to ship now until 1/1/2011

"We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay," explained the official US PlayStation blog, "however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches."

Nothing here about encryption issues. That's BS.

the Problem is Frame Rate

I guess we can just enjoy more trailers until 2011.

GT5 is now officially the biggest joke in gaming.

I remember pre-ordering Gran Turismo 5 around this time last year. It was supposedly "being released in the spring sometime" so I decided that I may as well do it.

I wonder if my pre-order even still exists?

Welcome to 3 months ago. :rotfl:

Nice source though, if only it weren't old news. The game is gold. Its now a matter of finding a slot to produce the game.

http://www.gtplanet....ines-new-dates/

Added to this, its been passed by most countries ratings boards which require a full finished copy of the final game.... I'd say Sony got as many copies out as possible in the two days they had left and are looking for some slots to fit the last 3 days of production in. The strong word is between November 26th and very early December.

Sorry, but there is no strong word on anything.

The strong word, from Sony was November 5th. More BS.

If they had any release date in November, even December, they would have stated it by now.

EB Games says officially no pre-orders ship before January 1, 2011.

The article states,"Published on Oct 19, 2010".

I realize you are a Sony Fanboy, but even GT5 Prologue has a built-in calendar you can consult.

The article that was released in several other interviews 3 months ago. The fact that, that website had only just picked up on it is hilarious.

If you can't realize what that article designed to do, then you're an idiot.

You are fully aware that game stores use the first and last date of each month as place holder dates. The game was set for November 5th before Sony wanting to update the game to their latest firmware set it back by 3 days. They won't release anything now until they're 100% sure of the date. We'll get an answer by the end of the month.

I think that lap was AI, surely.

And will this game ever come out, or shall I just wait till GT6? On the PS4?

So the game has F1 cars from the 2010 season? Hopefully, it has more than the Ferrari F10.

Release date is supposed to be November 24th.

There is no date yet, current expectations range from 23rd November for American release, 24th European and 26th UK, to New Years Day. We have to wait and see.

For the earlier date there is evidence as a launch party is scheduled in Madrid for the 24th and 25th. As well as that there are confirmed shipments of the game to france and Turkey at least.

Don't get your hopes up.. if the lists that leaked recently are to believed, the car list is at best unimpressive and the track list is ****ing embarassing. They took out more tracks than they added, and as usual, pissed away their time on meaningless shit and ignored the things that really matter.

The choice of cars if f***in awful. How many different MX5's or Civics or Skylines do you need? Then there's the total lack of a Scirrocco R, TVR Sagaris, Lotus Exige, Aston DBS, new Sport Clio, Astra VXR the list goes on and I would have loved to see the Corrado VR6, like in Forza.

Total disappointment and I've been waiting for this game for so long. I know that it will be amazing to drive, but the choice of cars and tracks is just awful. I hope to god they bring more out as downloadable content.

To be fair, the track list would be shit in a game made 10 years ago, and the car list is nothing near what was initially promised.

People are still being overly whiny, though.

the cars seem varied enough, there's something for everybody, even if they make it seem like a lot more than it really this, by repeating the same car with minor changes hundreds of times :p

but the track list has to be disappointing. It is missing essential tracks in Europe, America and even Japan. Glad i didnt get a PS3 for this.

I think the Gran Turismo guys need to have a more worldwide view of motoring: the track and car list are too Japanese in their outlooks, especially when the game is now such a big deal in world gaming.

More Grand Prix tracks, more European cars, less Skylines...

I'd say this is GT4 update to another platform (PS2 - PS3) with some addon.
Sceneries, tracks and cars are further developed and added new features like weather, timing, co-karting, limited but customized tracks.

People still complain car and track list and doesn't see helluva lot of work what is put into project. Maybe you guys have got used on new Need for Speed after every 3rd week. Better you manage to do something, there's always somebody whining what you should have done better...
