Hailwood would have been in a Surtees, probably a F5000, and Gardner a T190.

Boniver

From memory (and to add to the info already posted)...

Fred Saunders finished 7th in both heats in the Crossle 15F Rover V8.

Mike Hailwood and Frank Gardner were both in Lola T190 Chevrolet's.

Jackie Stewart was also present in the new Tyrrell 001, with his March 701 as a spare, but retired the Tyrrell in Heat 1.

Graham Hill was present in the Rob Walker Lotus 72C, and also retired.

I'll dig out my old copies of Motor Sport and see if I can find any additional information

Regards

Rob

This would go close to being FJ's last ever win, wouldn't it? At least his last F1 win?
