My hazy recolection is that the B68 was possibly the continuation of building Quest chassis, but B70?
Any one any idea whether they ever raced? Better still any pictures?

You're right there Phil. The 1987 B68 was "very Quest like"In the list of Chevron Type Numbers B68 and B70 are listed as Formula Fords.

I've no idea about the B70, other than it appeared in 1992. Whether it was an attempt at refining the B68, or a totally new design, I've no idea

Auroraf1,
I am for you to search my archive for your question. This is what I've found so far and it is still interesting.
Search: Autosport, 23 February 1989
Chevron B69 Formula Ford!
Picture shows Chevron B67!
In the register, only the Chevron B68 and B70 indicated as Formula Ford type.
I keep searching!!

In the Cevron register, type numbers, is not talking about a Formula Ford 2000.
Can someone (Alan Morgan ?????) confirm that Chevron has ever built a Formula Ford 2000?.
Or is this a converted Chevron FF 1600?
Please help.

The last Chevron, the Andreason/Southern version did, we can see make a FF1600, though it was a Quest by upbringing. I guess the FF2000 was made from it, perhaps based on the FF2000 Quest from 1986. 'Southern Chevron' also touted various other cars, an IMSA version of the B62 Group C2 car, an Atlantic, and it looks like an FF too. I don't know how many of these were ever really made or raced though.
For me, Chevrons finished after 1979...

Sorry - I can't help. The photo shown looks as though it was taken in recent years (judging by the helmet), and the 750MC sticker suggests that the car was running in F4 at the time. I suspect that the car may be a conversion. Any idea what the red item is protruding from the left, below the wing mirror? It couldn't be painted injector trumpets could it?

Mallory Dan,
Yes for me too, Chevrons finished after 1979....
Below you will find two scanned pages of an article from Duckhams "Quest" (issue No44 - Autumn,1976) about Bennet Engineering = Chevron Cars, The story behind the Chevron name written by Mike Kettlewell.
If someone wants a copy of the total 4 pages (PDF file) send me a private mail with your e-mail address.

There is talk of B67 and B69 FF1600 models, but the registers only cite B68 and B70
The plot thickens.

Wow some Chevron expertise indeed - anyone shed some light on the Atlantic/F2 car from 1982/83? I dont think it ever ran as an F2 car but was built for F2/Mondiale etc - pics would be great!
Some good stuff on the later, post 79, Chevrons over on 10/10ths Motorsport - The Chassis History Archive, Chevron B53 thread.

I have 2 B-67 88's, I originally raced one as a ff2000 in the mid 90's and recently reacquired it and converted it to ff1600. The second was never built and is in the process of being put together.

Unfortunately time ran out to go and take a closer look at Charlie Williams FF Chevron, listed as a B68 on the entry list at Shelsley Walsh last weekend. My first thought on seeing it and before I spotted the Chevron badge was Reynard RF87, but of course the roll bar among all the other details is completely wrong

The chap who designed this Chevron was also the chief designer for Quest! I don't have access to my notes from Loton Park 2019 as I had a long chat with Charlie about the car so I could provide some background info during commentary.

That would appear to be Mike Thompson according to this article though there is no mention of the Chevron only that he went on to manage Johnny Herbert to what appears to be the end of his first year with Bennetton :- https://www.islandli...epower-thrills/

Do you have the chassis numbers for your cars as we are trying to trace both kent and pinto cars?
