Not all teams or manufacturers had their own transporters for all their years of entering races , or at times not enogh of their own . So, many times private firms were brought in to help out , or even ret-a-car was used.

Aston Martin and Triumph at LM used private cars at times.
Ferrari used private many times , mainly by Baricchi , especially to Britain in most years , but also LM for their custumors , and often the NART cars.

A company frequently seen at big GB races , and allways doing the transport for Ferrari was S.Smith & Co /SS&Co. Downham Rd. London . Their cars (usually) Bedfords are seen in some paddock shot with Ferraris nearby.
They do not seem to exist anymore , anyone ever heard of them ?

Silcocks were car transporter people, very regulated industry in those days, later becoming Silcocks and Collings, who did all the Ford stuff ex Dagenham, so a logical link, then into Toleman IIRC.
For S Smith, Steven Smith may be able to help.

Roger Williams, who owned Will Hire, ran an East Anglian based van and truck rental operation with several depots across that part of the UK, so they would have been a logical local choice for Lotus.

Adams Bros were in Dickerage Lane, New Malden, Surrey (where I was raised) but their depot closed some years ago and is now HomeBase. But their building, Adams House, is still there.
