This is so wacky that to make things simpler, I'm just going to quote what I've read on another forum (TBK Light) and paste it here:

Something interesting:

https://twitter.com/NelsonPiquet
Fiquem ligados nas noticias sobre F1. Muita coisa vai acontecer. Muita coisa um tanto... Nova!
Stay aware of Formula 1 news. A lot of things are gonna happen. A lot of things somewhat... New!

https://twitter.com/flaviogomes69 (Flavio Gomes is a famous motorsport journalist in Brazil)
SuperNova + Piquet pode dar equipe nova na F-1. Fiquemos atentos.
Supernova + Piquet can join forces for a new team in F1. Let's stay aware.

Piquet in Supernova/Piquet F1 in 2010? 8O

I'm not entirely certain this later twitter account is legitimate (what's up with the 69? ), but it appears Nelson is making a pun with SuperNova. And I can't figure out how could this possibly happen, unless they're buying the remainings of BMW Sauber, or somehow hoping they'll take their place.

For those who don't know, SuperNova is one of the most successful F3000/GP2 level teams ever, having won 4 championships, with Sospiri, Zonta, Montoya and Bourdais - they have been a bit far from top results for a while though. The Piquet team was set up at 2005 for Nelson and got him a 2nd in the championship behind Hamilton, since then they have not been as successful neither. Either way I'd like to see these two graduate to F1.

Excuse me? Piquet's team has won the British F3 championship and nearly won the GP2 title.

The 69 is legit.
It's the number on Flavio Gomes' race car.

heh, they'll probably go find Piquet Jr.'s old #2, Negrao, and bring him up to F1...I've always thought it was funny that Piquet dragged his #2 (Negrao) with him up through F3 and GP2, only to himself become a #2 to Alonso. Perhaps he knows how Negrao feels now?

Except that Piquet and Negrao didn't race in the same competition until GP2.

Just a year ago, a team was forced to leave because it was too small for F1. Now everyone wants to join F1. It's crazy.

No.
But Toro Rosso may be a connection (but I really doubt it).

heh, they'll probably go find Piquet Jr.'s old #2, Negrao, and bring him up to F1...

Using this logic, both Piquet GP and Super Nova Racing would have these options (from GP2):

Piquet GP / Minardi Piquet Sports / Piquet Sports
2005 - Nelson Angelo Piquet & Alexandre Sarnes Negrão
2006 - Nelson Angelo Piquet & Alexandre Sarnes Negrão
2007 - Alexandre Sarnes Negrão & Roldán Rodríguez
2008 - Pastor Maldonado & Andreas Zuber
2009 - Roldán Rodríguez & Alberto Valerio

Super Nova Racing
2005 - Adam Carroll & Giorgio Pantano
2006 - José María López & Mohamed Fairuz Fauzy
2007 - Luca Filippi & Mike Conway
2008 - Christian Bakkerud & Andy Soucek & Álvaro Parente
2009 - Luca Filippi & Javier Villa

And there is also others Brazilian drivers in GP2.
Can you imagine B. Senna in a Piquet's car? :drunk:

Anyway, Piquet GP in F1 would be rubbish.

Interestingly Galvao Bueno (Brazilian narrator who works in Globo broadcast) during an interview asked for Nelson why he was appearing sucessively in the GPs as usually even with Nelsinho being there he didn't use to.

Then Piquet replied "soon, soon you will know".

in that same interview he let it in the air that the atmosphere in Renault is too heavy for Nelsinho and etc...

I think there is a genuine possibility that this is true; they might be interested in the BMW Sauber team up for sale.

It's an interesting rumour (if you support Nelson!) I suppose if you follow the Honda example BMW would hand over the team and its assets give the new owner a big sum of money (money they would have had to spend on making the current workforce redundant anyway). I suppose Piquet Snr did win BMW a championship and has links with them so it could be feasible with a bit of Brazilian investment. Come to think of it BMW gave MG Rover £500M when they handed it back..... I dunno tho really - sounds like a huge venture and gamble. Not my money so go for it!

- Renault leave F1;
- Piquet Sr. announces his team.

I doubt this will happen. If Piquet Snr is indeed intending to buy the team, he's going to have a very hard time convincing people to invest if he intends to run Piquet Jnr. And the final vote will, of course, lie with BMW; you can bet Peter Sauber will try and save the team, while unsuccessful applicants like Epsilon Euskadi have already shown an interest. Hell, they could even merge to form Epsilon-Sauber ...

Of course if Piquet Snr happens to be the main investor it might not be that difficult for him to convince himself...I have no idea how much money he's made outside F1 but his satellite truck tracking business(AutoTrac) seemed pretty big. Seems a very expensive way of keeping Jnr in F1 surely just bunging a team £5M or £10M would save a lot of work but maybe he wants to do something himself and I'm sure he's a pretty shrewd business man. Come to think of it Pedro Piquet will need a F1 drive too in less than 10 years so might be thinking of some sort of dynasty! At least Jnr could sack Flav and Alonso if they bought Renaults F1 operation

On a more serious note: I think it's unlikely Epsilon Euskadi buys BMW Sauber. They don't need all those facilities, because they already have a very well-equipped base in Azkoitia, Spain. On the other hand, they might combine both bases: Azkoitia for their sportscar team and other activities, and Hinwill, Switzerland for Formula One.

Just heard on the radio. Nelson Piquet Sr is teaming up with Peter Sauber to gather the former BMW F1 team into a new one. I'm smelling Petrobrás Money and Bruno Senna side by side with Nelson Jr.

NP Sr has done in the past, so why not? I wouldn't mind if another Brazilian Team entered F1, after Fittipaldi Brothers adventures with Copersucar.

NP sucesfully created teams from scratch and helped Jr win titles in junior formulae, so F1 seems like a natural step.

Who knows, Petrobras might find the idea interesting and decide to come back to F1...

Epsilon Euskadi don't want BMW's facilities- they wanted their membership rights. They aren't looking to buy/move into any of the facilities or "save the team".

Never actually heard that before. You learn something new everyday :p

I thought it would be too late for a takeover with a view to enter a team 2010 but good news. It'd be interesting to see Piquets potential in a car other than a Renault. And of course would love to see Bruno in F1 next year.

Once Honda announced it was pulling out of Formula One, we decided we were going to stop too, because all the manufacturer-backed teams had fuel suppliers for 2009. We're not interested in just being a commercial sponsor without the possibility of using and developing our products.

Never thought of that. It would be a brilliant resurrection of a famous name. Although most people wouldn't remember it...Although that also applies to Spyker and Bugatti.

And what next....USF1 to morph in Duesenberg?

Toro Rossa to become Isotta-Franchini...?

From the article:

De acordo com a imprensa europeia...

This is just Terra publishing european articles (maybe from F1-Live) that we have read about it already.

And about that 'post' on Twitter, Piquet Jnr made another one following:

Pessoal, eu nao falei nada demais. Só disse que gosto do nome Piquet F1. O povo inventa e eu colaboro

Just for the record...Brazil is a latin, not a spanic country. And our language is the Portughese ( a lusitan language, spoken in Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Cabo Verde, some parts of Asia as Timor and China), a specific latin language, just like French, Italian an of course, Spanic.

Again
