I am interested in uncovering photographs/video footage showing the Ducati 888 racers that competed in the 1992 British superbike championship. The riders in question are:

36- John Hackett - P & D Lees
39- Mark Forsyth - Hobbsport Racing
7- Carl Fogarty - Moto Cinelli
69- Michael Rutter - Moto Cinelli
8- Trevor Nation - Oxford Products Ltd
10- Jeremy McWilliams - Oxford Products Ltd
40- Roger Bennett - QB Homes/Shopfitters

If anybody has anything, (action photos or just the bikes being fettled in the pits), especially of the less well known riders I would love to see them.

Thanks.

Try ducaticoventry.com for John Hackett, he does the performance stuff there.

If you're interested in pictures of the riders themselves, here's one of Mark Forsyth in the GSX-R Cup in 1992, on Manfred Mothes' site.

I think I've got some footage of the 1992 season on tape somewhere, I'll keep looking. If not, I know for sure there's some from 91 and 93, would any of that be of interest to you?

I look forward to your 1992 U.K. footage becoming available ChiliFan.
I would also be grateful, if you could direct me to the 1991 and 1993 material. Most of what's available, for example, on youtube is WSB coverage.

Do you know if the GSX-R Cup was a season long series or a just a one off race?
Maybe Mark Forsyth did that, instead of race an 888 that year, even though this link confirms a British Superbikes entry.

I just googled 'mark forsyth 1992'
http://www.imdb.com/...503/fullcredits
Does this mean Mark Forsyth presented on the BBC TV program 'Top Gear'. I wonder if any of these appearances were Ducati 888 related. He was very successful on an 888 in the UK Battle of The Twins race series at the time of those appearances. He won it outright in 1990 and placed second in 1991. Maybe these 'Top Gear' clips show those BotT races. Or maybe someone reading this thread has some home video footage of those BotT races? I would love to see it.

PS: I was at Brands Hatch and saw Chili win a Superbike race a few years back, He striped out of his leathers on the start finish line and threw them into the crowd.

A lot of the WSB footage on YouTube is actually uploaded by myself, I'm hoping to put up some national championship races too.

All I've found from 92 so far is the TT footage, want me to post some of that? I've got one race from Donington in 91 and I think two race from 93, just need to find the tapes they're on. In the meantime, here's Trevor Nation on the Oxford Products Ducati in the 92 Senior TT:

Pretty sure it was a full series. I think it was also an invitational. I know they raced at Hockenheim, Jerez and the full Paul Ricard circuit, probably a few others too. Unfortunately the only video footage available is on crash compilation tapes, as far as I know. There might have been some Eurosport reviews at the time though.

I was at Monza in 2000 and almost got hold of his leathers myself!

I look forward to you posting the early British superbike races on youtube.

Good luck with your 'WSB pet project', maybe If I'm lucky someone will start one for British superbike's then if I'm really lucky Battle of the Twins.

As the GSX-R Cup lasted a full season it would seem unlikely that Mark Forsyth did actually race an 888 in 1992.

Re Mark Forsyth. Last I knew, he lived in the Stamford, Lincs, area. May have moved. Try the guys at Performance Bikes magazine in Peterborough for a contact address.

Should I search out and contact these racers personally?

Having read ChiliFan's 'Graeme Richie' post last night it seems the best source are the spectators and especially the supporting players.

Mark Forsyth is on 'youtube'. He is currently the PR manager at Team MSS Colchester Kawasaki, the official Kawasaki Motors British Superbike entry for 2009.
