Bike details for some of the minor riders might be incorrect, I've not got a lot of information regarding bike models. Other than that I think these are complete and accurate.

Yeah I've spent a long time compiling as many entry lists as I can using race videos, results sheets and the official series books. I think I have one for every race up to 1999 now.

I think I am right in counting 77 entries for the 1989 race at the Hungaroring. That is a hell of an entry.

Yes,but If I remember it was a race(who somebody DNQ)...The race name:Tebimpex-ITV Cup.
Tebimpex-ITV:(State Company-because this time was Communist regime in Hungary) I don't know what make this company but sponsoring this race!
I remember this time was a strike in Europe and lot of drivers didn't travelled the machines for good times and after DNQ(I remember:Delkamp,Baldwin and others-big names). This is the story why make this race.Problem was:two hungarians riders raced only this race.
Result?Hm???
I think:3rd:Dall'Aglio,1st:Schmidt

All 77 of those riders took part in qualifying, hence the huge number of DNQs. They split them into two groups to qualify, then the top 4 of the combined times went on to take part in the race. With 37 non-qualifiers, you can see why they organised a race for them.

It's worth noting that there were in fact more than 120 entries accepted for the Hungarian round in 1989, but only those 77 set a time during qualifying. Unless I can somehow find a copy of the programme or entry sheets from that round we'll probably never know who they all were. There were also 104 entries at the Osterreichring and 100 at Hockenheim, but again not all of them showed up.

As for events organised for non-qualifiers, there are no other times that that happened, as far as I know. The closest I can think of is at the 1990 Spanish round where many riders entered for the European Championship support race, in case they didn't get a spot in the WSB race.

I find this results:

April 30. 1989
Superbike Tebimpex-ITV Cup (20 laps, 79.3 km): Raced 28 riders
----------------------------------------------
1. Anton Heiler (Germany, Bimota) 45:17.01 p
2. Bodo Schmidt (Germany, Yamaha) 45:36.53
3. Marco Dall,aglio (Italy, Yamaha) 45:54.68
4. Manici Corrado (Italy, Ducati) 45:55.84
5. Alfred Grossauer (Austria, Honda) 46:45.12
6. Mile Pajic (Netherland, Kawasaki) 47:17.56
... 14. Szabó János (Bimota) +3 laps retired
... 23. Harmati Árpád (Honda) +14 laps retired

Harmati entered:Schatz Motorsport Club
Szabó enterd:Zalka Máté Motoros Klub(this time about half communist regime:This is about Goverment club)Dietmar Manhard gave for him this Bimota

Info:from 24 countries 128 riders entered
It was a problem for voyage because somewhere this time was a strike.Didn't raced Delkamp and Baldwin because didn't arrived the bikes...
