Unless my mind is going (gone, who am I? ) there was a three cylinder four stroke Italian racing machine from, probably the late 60's early 70's that had a name beginning (again I think ) with a C.

Yes, brilliant thats the one.
All I could think of was Carminati and he was my bank manager when I wanted a bank loan of £500 for an Aermacchi-Metisse in the 70s. Turned out he was originally from Varese, Aermacchis home town, what a bit of luck and he let me have the money as well.
