Who knows something about Willi Briem?

Hello everybody,

i`m interested in genealogy and i know that my great-grandfathers name ist willi briem. do someone knows something about his life? i was searching for informations in the www but didn`t find anything good, except of his wins in diverse car racings. who can help me?

Willi Briem owned a driving school business in Ludwigsburg, Germany. During 1933, he raced a 1928 model 1.1-liter 6-cylinder Amilcar GGS and had good results at hill climbs. In the fall 1936, he took part in the Mercedes racing driver school at the Nűrburgring but was too slow in the grand prix car. In the late Thirties, Willi drove a few circuit races with the BMW 328. He was part of the BMW team in the shortened 1940 Mille Miglia where Briem came 5th with Uli Richter in an open BMW 328. He did not race after the war.

Do you have Willi Briem's birthday, place of birth and date with place of death?

Sorry Hans to correct you, but Briem was driving again after the war. From memory there were the two races at Nürnberg (Nuremberg) and at Köln (Cologne) in 1949 where he was in the cockpit of the HH 47 (owned by Fritz Rieß).

Here is a link to a photo of the BMW team at Le Mans in 1939. Willi Briem was in BMW number 28, which finished ninth overall and third in class:
