.....what would it be?

I would be a race engineer :D

My famous Smedley style line that would be uploaded onto YouTube would be:

'Behind you, Hamilton's in the pits and he looks quick!'

It's a spin on what Alonso's RE said after Hamilton had passed Webber.

What would your job/comment be? :well:

Team Principal of course :D

Being in charge of an F1 team, hopefully a successful one. Reap the rewards, for what is the second best job in the world after being a driver.

I'm a bit more geeky, I have to admit, so probably an aero/electronics engineer working at the factory.

PR-person of course. It's like working with Lego - you have all the elements and need to put them together using your creativity. I guess it's much more interesting in losing team than in winning one. Your skills will be tested every time to invent new "package of excuses".

Pitbabe, and the surgery would be worth it.

My quotable comment on YouTube would be "Yes, Sutil is the father"

My famous line would be "so little time, so much choice"

:D

Nah, seriously, id like to be a neutral part of the sport so I could spend time with all teams and drivers.

Yeah, drive your guts out all weekend and no one gives a shit (in fact you look slow) but if you spun the car you would be the worlds laughing stock and on Youtube for years to come, no thank you Sir.

Well it certainly beats being an umbrella ;)

Strategy specialist, of course.

- Full wets for Raikkonen, now!
- But it's dry... What about our computer simulations, weather forecasts, reality?
- Screw that, I have a gut feeling it's going to rain in 12,34 seconds.
- But everyone else is still on slicks...
- FULL WETS NOW!!!!!!!

After further 5 minutes it's still dry and tyres are completely destroyed.

- Well, at least we tried! :-)

Think I'd be more inclined to do a similar role. More on the aerodynamics side.

I think travelling every other weekend would lose its appeal after a month or two.

I would like to work in the communications side of things. I am currently a data network engineer and would like to do that in motorsport. has always been one of my career aspirations, not necessarily at the track, would be happy to work in the factory

I'd be a cross between Bernie Ecclestone, driver manager, public relations go-to guy and sponsorship manager. The kind of person who makes things happen.

I'd like to be the General Counsel for Williams, although it would be fun being the same for Ferrari to see once and for all the Number 1 driver clause in writing!

If it meant I got a free pass I'd gladly be the guy that hoovers the podium before each race and puts up the sign behind it with the full title of the event.

I would not want to be driver, actually... some tests would be fine, but races? After an hour of karting I am totally fed up with it.

So... an engineer who sometimes is allowed to drive the cars. Sounds cool.

Perhaps cheapy could be the hoover when he's not needed as an umbrella - you know - multi-task.

How many remember bpl from 2006-2008? Worked for Renault PR and posted here occasionally. A role similar to that, what we in the games industry call a community manager. Essentially getting paid to come herre and read this stuff and occasionally add some team info to threads. :)

That guy's name is David Warren.

The podium ceremony used to be run by the fantastically named Baron Gerald de Bar de la Garde de la Michardiere!

I'd want to be a TV director, so I could switch from the racing at a crucial moment to a shot of open-mouthed mechanics staring at a monitor.

That'd be great, if I was in the pit crew I could wave at my mum on international TV.
