Makes a lot more sense than Prodrive buying BMW or some of the other rumours we've seen floating around.

The team formerly known as Force India formerly known as Spyker formerly known as Midland formerly known as Jordan...

I thought it had finally stopped changing ownership...

There have been rumors circulating for a while that VJ isn't exactly swimming in cash despite initial appearances that hinted he was ;)

Force India have been the only team since Jordan to have show commitment and progression. I reckon Vijay is so far doing a cracking job!

Might be very good news. Sometimes these apparent billionaires turn out not to have anything like the kind of money people assume them to have. But the team appear to be on an upward curve at the moment, and someone with real motorsports experience like Richards might finally get them back on track for a return to Jordan's glory days.

Just to add some aviation insight to this.... Kingfisher Airlines are deep in the crap right now as are many Indian carriers, fuel hedges, rising costs, dropping travel numbers, etc.

So VJ has some seriously pressing issues right now and "maybe" spending millions of dollars in F1 is not the right thing to be seen to be done while other parts of the empire are in trouble.

Considering Prodrive had discussions with McLaren about customer car programmes, a deal to buy Force India with its Merc engines probably has "some" merit....

Fisichella and his manager Zanarini have ended their agreement with Coloni on the GP2 series.
