Hi Guys, Just to let you all know that Stu Melling crashed his triple at Russells chicane at the weekend and was unfortunately run over by the second placed guy, he has suffered some serious chest injuries but has pulled through the first 48 hours and according to his mate Rob, is hopefully stable now, i'm sure all our good wishes are with him for a speedy recovery!

Yes Mick, let's hope all will be OK

I met Stu at Darley earlier in the year when he was riding Phil's TZ and his own R3, a really nice guy.

Best wishes for a quick recovery Stu

Hi Mick

I was very close to the accident which was a nasty one, just to let everyone know the CRMC website is keeping updates on Stu at http://www.crmc.co.uk/forums/index.php

It goes without saying that we all wish him and his family all the very best......

I would also like to thank the trackside Marshalls for their very quick response in red flagging the race which meant the medical crew were with Stu in double quick time.

Cheers

John

Hi Guys, I've just spoken to Stuarts mate Rob, he saw him today and said he appears a little better and was asking questions, he's also got his sense of humour, so thats a good sign, I'll be seeing Rob on Friday at Goodwood so any more info will be passed on to you at the weekend.

Regards Mick

Hiya All

Latest news about Stu is very pleasing, He's still very poorly but he's sitting up today and comunicating with everyone...... Still full of tubes but should be breathing on his own very very soon. The Doc's are looking at maybe Tuesday to transfer him nearer to home..... So fingers crossed....

Cormac is still very stiff and a quote from Stu when he found out Cormac landed on his head was "He'll be alright then" so pleased to report that Stu still has his sense of homour.............. :rotfl:

Cormac is hoping to start running again in the next couple of days and already looking forward to racing with the boy's at Cadwell on the 10th / 11th October......

If anyone is interested in a great weekends racing then get yourself along to Cadwell for our last meeting of the season, at £12 you won't be dissapointed.............

Cheers for now

Just a quick update on Stu......

He's had a good weekend still in lot's of pain but he's now out of intensive care and been moved to another ward...... Still no word when he's going to be transfered nearer home but hopefully before the end of the week.......

It goes without saying that we are all thinking of him and wish him a speedy recovery......

Hi John, just spoke to Stu's mate Rob, he has a broken Sternum and collarbone on top of all his other problems and he probably wont be moved up north till at least the weekend.
Apparently Malcom Hearn is visiting him tonight!

Hi Mick
Just spoke to Rob myself this evening and he confirmed what your saying, John Conroy is trying to get over tomorrow to visit Stu so hopefully a bit of Irish huour should lift Stu's spirits a bit, I'm pleased that Malcome is visiting as he's a really nice guy, I've only met malcolm twice but he's been around a race track for a long time and seen it all so again I think Stu will appreciate the company......

I am getting so many enquiries from a lot of CRMC members who all send their best wishes and love to Stu......

A quick update on Cormac is that he is doing well, on witnessing the accident at close quarters I think most guys that don't have Cormac's fitness would probably have been in the next bed to Stu..... However Cormac is hoping to start some gentle running in a couple of days as he's booked to run a Marathon in Amsterdam a week after we're at Cadwell, so he seems to be doing OK.

For all those who wern't at Snetterton - Russells seemed to claim a lot of riders which on Saturday was quite suprising as the Track temp was probably at it's highest this year, a lot different on Sunday though as the weather was quite chilly, but just a couple of off's that I seen......

Patrick Banfield dropped highsided on the Friday track day, no injuries but a trip to P&M's for a complete front end..... Unfortunatly did the same again with Gary Thwaites just missing Pat by 6 inches.....

Steve Parrish on a parade, don't know the bike he was on but another coller bone for Stavro's, I can quote him saying "What a Pratt"

One of the sidcars dropped his passenger on the exit and hats off to the passenger who jumped up and ran back to the outfit and with a quick push back racing again

There we're more but I was tied up with other stuff so didn't actually see them......

Cadwell next and I think the racing will be just as intence.....

John

Hi Guys, Just had a text from Stu's mate Rob, he had just spoken to John Cormac who has just been in to see Stu.
He has had all his drains removed, suffering pain from his arm and chest, he's sitting up and breathing is still very painfull but getting better every day.
They are looking to transfer him around weekend.
John said he was in good spirit but couldn't understand him much as they had removed the voice box, keep your fingers crossed and he could be back in the north west by the weekend!

Hi guys, just got in from seeing Stu, he is still in the ICU (Intensive care unit) and though still "poorly" (he had a collapsed lung just before I arrived, sorted now!) he is surprisingly cheerful, and although he can speak no real sounds come out, so you have to lip read, luckily his Wife Nikki & Mum Beryl were there to help me with that!
He has a tube down into his stomach feeding him liquid food, and numerous other tubes helping him, but he can breath by himself now, I must say it was a shock to see him like that, but I am glad I went to see him & that he was pleased to see me too!. He has had many visitors so far apparently.
All being well he should be moved nearer home at the weekend.
Graham.

Hi Guys

Really good to know Stu is making a steady recovery.....

The CRMC Forum has a thread for posting messages for Stu and Nichola, Jono is going to print them all off for Stu once he's closer to home, so please feel free to leave him a message, the site address is www.crmc.co.uk/forums/index.php

Cheers

Just read it Phil, didn't know the details of the accident before but it seems he was very lucky.

He seems quite chirpy considering what he's been through, recovering very well from all accounts.

Best of luck for the future Stu
