Cheers.

When 2 cars fight in front of you, maybe next time keep a bit more distance. You entering that corner as on a qualifting lap with no cars areound didn't really work. ;)

I thought I had enough of a gap to them to do that. They were like a full second ahead. In my mind I thought I'd catch them by the middle of the next straight... Not already on corner exit!

And so, thankfully, some wonderful news, it appears to have begun...

Yeah

It's pretty damn fun, it has something that other sims don't seem to have which is grip differences between puddles and the rest, the slippery rubbered-in racing line and the rest.

However I think there's quite a few issues which is kinda expected for a brand new feature.. the outside line having more grip seems a bit overdone, the spray is so intense you can't see anything including the rain lights from the back of other cars, the rain falling on the windshield hardly seems to affect visibility at all so the wipers are kinda needless, and the transitions from dry to wet track and back are graphically a bit weird and unintuitive. Moreover I think it's so tough to drive I'm pretty damn sure wet weeks will have low participation.

It's a great base for a new feature but needs work IMO.

Yeah, it seems the absence of a rain light really intensifies the lack the vision, and conversely the clarity on the windshield is odd. I wonder if it is graphical compromise in exchange for driving experience. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my first test this week (R8 GT3 @ Lime Rock) and will engage in a longer session this weekend.

AFAIK. ACC has the puddle physic thingy to a degree. rF2 has puddles, but they are more visual than anything, also "puddle maps" are a thing, so I assume those are pre-defined in the track files. ACC doesn't have the rubbered in line and grip thing. rF2 has, but it changes too quickly. As in the rubber gets was away too quickly, so it goes back to racing line being quickest again too soon.

And of course the dynamic lines based on where cars are actually driving etc. has been a variety of sims the last 10 years.

If they keep working on the visibility thing, and keep refining the wet/rubbered in line. It can be extremely good! As that is the main thing that will separate it from their competitors.
