I installed Win7 on my main PC, and it works fine, no skew issues
shame though, the PC had been up since Christmas
Do any of you race the Ovals ? I really struggling with the clusterf**k that is the bottom spilt in rookie races, I got taken out three times last night in less than 20 laps in the same scenario, two cars ahead collide, spotter says slow down, I slow down to try to get past, and car behind poughs into me at full speed
Then I seemed to have a problem with my pit crew dropping me off the jacks and damaging the car ! I was parked in the pits, with the car being repaired, and it says 2m20 to fix the car, but each time the pit crew dropped the car, the time went up by a minute, so eventually I spent 6m50 being fixed !
I doesn't help that I'm still stuggling with the website, I was logged in before 10 in the morning, and was looking for an oval race in the race finder, but it said there wasn't any till 3pm, but I was out for the rest of the day and couldn't race until the 10pm race, which had a huge field of 80+, and I end up in the bottom spilt with all the morons, instead of in a field of 15 total, and only 2-3 morons. So frustraiting.
How do I get my SR up to escape ? after the race I did a TT, 51 laps ZERO inc, and only gained 0.06 SR, at that rate it would take me about 5 days to get to SR3.0
The MX5's at Okayama is going much smoother thank goodness, a couple of mostly clean races, and I'm up to 3.51 SR so I should get promoted quite easily, although again I did have someone drive out of the sandtrap straight into my path
I followed the winner in the MX5 for quite a few laps, and I could see where I'm losing time, mainly on the brakes, I need to work on braking into the corner, rather than in a straightline and coming off the brakes before turn-in. I also seem to have a problem with having "too much wheel in the car" as the Americans would say, I need to work on un-winding the steering lock as I get past the apex. This is especially noticeable on the Oval, and in the last turn at Okayama.
I also struggle with turning in too soon, but I do this in RL too, its an old hang-up from my first car which was rear-engined, and turning in early allowed you to catch the turn-in oversteer.....
Still having fun though, mostly
