I have a question about Ecurie Elf Switzerland, a former F2 team of Larrousse, Sage and Paul Archambeaud.
The most important people (Larrousse, Sage, Jabouille) moved to the Renault F1 team in 1977. How much of Ecurie Elf Switzerland was the Renault F1 team? Was it the same team?
Can you tell me more about Ecurie Elf Switzerland and Formula 2?
Jabouille was champion in 1976 and built the cars on his own.

but the elf switzerland born in the 1974 year wtih alpine a 440 and a 441 with larrousse and m c beaumont and b darniche

only the sponsor was swiss (swiss cheese)not the team and the team wasnt own or run by renault .the team was call ELF2 and existed since the early 70s running alpine frames in formula 2 with ford bda and after that from 74 bmw engines and finnaly in 76 -77 with the v6 renault, at that point Alpine wasnt involve anymore and the frame were homemade but still tubular frame very much inspired from the alpine . and yes the team was run by jabouille. larousse and sage who all went to renault when "renault sport "was created in 77, cause before that the sport antenna of renault in sporstcar -f3 dudot so as in rally was AlpineHello!

Géerard larrousse was arived on the team in 1972 for first time for driving a Lola T70
In 1973 team engage 3 lola T292 and Gérard is comming with JO bonier Sponsor "fromage switserland"
Paul archeambeaud as finacial problems and Gérard has becomes president of this team, Jean Sage becomes Director
For 1974 they have engage 2 Alpine on 2l european championchip
For 1975 2 Elf2 with BMW Schnitzer
At end of 1975 g Larrousse has oportunitie to become global mananger of Renault Sport.
He don't forget his old team and one of first decision was to give to archeambeaud team the V6 for the Elf2. Jabouille becomes European champion with this car.
It's the end of this team, and Gérard don't never forget his friends. Jabouille ans Sage becomes member of Renault Sport
