Ralph Sleigh. Austin Reliability Tests

Ex- Squadron Leader Ralph Sleigh lived near Ipswich at the time, he took part in a few rallies including the Monte Carlo and in 1953 entered the Daily Express Motor Rally sharing the cartoonist ‘Giles’ XK120. He also participated in other Reliability Trials for Austin; including the A90 Atlantic tests in America. Could any TNFer’s add to this.

Possibly married twice-
1) 1942 Chippenham district
2) 1989 Bury St Edmunds district

The article on the Austin Website says that he was 38 years old,so that ties in. However the William bit is strange! Thank you for checking that out!

June 15th at the Abbey Church, Malmesbury, to Joan Isobel Moore. Groom was the son of Mr & Mrs Arthur Benson Adie Sleigh of Crossways, Great Barton, Bury St Edmunds.Possibly married twice-
1) 1942 Chippenham district

Arthur B SLEIGH appears in the 1901 census as a Photo engraver. Arthur had a brother born in New York.

Having seen the census image, I can't come up with a meaningful transcription of the last word either.
