I can't see how this would help Robert in any way, why should he use hand controls for acceleration and braking if he has full use of his legs?

Yeah, I know I know, all I'm saying is that this seems to be a very noble, well-equipped sort of karting track. So if they even have special karts for foot free driving, they might just as easily have one optimized for one-handed driving.

Besides, do we know for sure that he has full use of his legs again? I'm not saying he hasn't, but since we don't hear anything reliable from him, we actually can only hope that as well.

Ferrari is making fun of all these new on twitter. Massa is going nowhere.

Massa will be out by Canada and I think if he is way off Alonso's pace come Catalunya (A place where they should be within a tenth if not closer) then he is gone. I said from the start Perez will go to Ferrari and Massa will swap and end up back at Sauber where he belongs. Robert won't be replacing anybody this year. If he gets in an F1 car it won't be until the season is over. He should test a GP2 car before he thinks about getting back into an F1 car.

There is info on some blog

My mother has this friend whose daughter got sick from rat pee on her soda can.

that Kubica took some cash for driving on that track.

Cash is what he needs the most, and the best way to earn it is to charge some average Italian blokes for driving their karts. Next time we will hear he takes 5 euro for every photo fans take with him.

They claim Kubica was driving using only one hand, very, very slowly. There is no fastest laps they said.

Poor attempt. Gotta try harder.

Do we know what Robert has already tested? He might have driven a formula car months ago and probably again set record braking laptimes in the process.

Why would a guy who was earning a couple milion € per year (10 in 2011 I believe) and still has a good marketing potential do such a thing? This doesn't make any sense.

Oh, so he lost all his millions, then goes to a karting track to earn a few bucks? Yeah, sounds reasonable.

I am not sure about his marketing potential anymore.

First though: being a very good poker player (who already played with professionals) he could easily get a deal with Full Tilt Poker, Poker Stars or some other poker company. Much better money than a gig for some unknown karting track.

He could "write" a book, give some speeches for big bucks. Get involved in creation of some racing game. Lots of better ways someone with world wide fame can make money. And to use his very high popularity in Italy and Poland.

Please, don't be absurd.

Kubica isn't listed in the Top 10 list of best times yet:;)
http://mykart.it/GiriVeloci.aspx

His nickname is TROTO so he was 3rd best time of the week. I guess he's yet to crack the all time top 10.

Do you think that in this day and age, it would be possible to test F1 car without press knowing about it? Answer is no. good news seem to be coming from Kubica camp and i hope he can live good life.

He is not so fast anymore. But we have to be happy for him he can drive electric gokart at least. Wait couple of years and maybe he will get in something bigger, but I wouldnt bet on it.
Thats sad having in mind he was fastest man in F1.

Well, whatever the future brings for Kubica, in any case it won't be Ferrari. I hope at least that's now clear for everyone. After Perez' performance today I mean.

As a Kubica fun I need to agree with flaviob. After todays excellent and storming perfomance Perez, as active driver, seems to be much closer to red team.
But of course we are tend to think that way, just because we don't have any info on Kubica, his rehab and anything that would toward him to ferrari right now. So it is natural and justified.

Also after Massa, I don't think Ferrari will ever ever take a chance with a driver coming back from injury.

No matter what the reason for Massa's bad performances... that injury will still be the white elephant no one wants to analyze. Ferrari might have had enough. They can afford any driver on the grid, I have always failed to understand why this rumour started that they'd definitely be going for an injured Kubica, to replace another injured driver.

And I don't think they need to, when they have got themselves drivers like Perez waiting in the wing. Kubica to Ferrari is finished.

It was silly season back then. Journos desperately searched something to write about, someone had the idea about Kubica/Ferrari, others copied it and some fans went crazy about it.

We have the confirmation that his nickname on the Mykarts site is Troto:

Mykarts confirms Kubica's nick is Troto

I guess he did a closer to a 25.6 on friday than his 25.634 from tuesday.

He also might have been partecipating in an online videogame rally on RedBull World as "Joe" stated(edit: and Agnieszka koszmider confirms this on her twitter):

Kubica online rallying?

The Troto guy on the website is from Monaco(lol) and is just humilating in laptimes everyone else:

Troto's results

Also tomorrow on the website f1zone at 12:00 PM there will be a surprise, i hope it's about Robert :)

There are some journos that mentioned this possibility and that are outside this thread. I'm not saying it was credible, but saying that the Robert to Ferrari story is made up only by this thread posters is simply not true.

I disagree. This is the Robert Kubica thread. Not the "thread to discuss Robert's real life racing activities only" thread.

Also, one can presume that doing sim racing is part of Robert's rehab programme.

Nah, he is simracing (or should I say - simrallying) for a long time. Also I think there isn't so much talk about his sim activities, so placing info here isn't causing any mess.

Spot on. Robert won some online championships in it. His usual nickname was "Kopecky Fan", though AFAIK he used various others.
BTW there was also another Robert Kubica, who raced under his real name, but it wasn't this RK.

Desperation from his fans, no doubt spurred on by the over optimistic predictions about his early return.

You mean the media which reported the "story" are the desperate fans?
BS.

Silly season if anything, and the rumors started long before Robert's accident.

Ha! Some said he would be lucky to walk. Then to walk normally. Then to drive a normal car. Then to drive a kart.

They have said more, but the running tally is fun, so we'll wait. :D

It was a major accident, takes time even for the stoutest fellow to bounce back. But Robert is that fellow.

Really a random name, whoever decided to do that, chose a rally driver name (P-G Andersson), misspelled it and added a random picture
